Best news last night Hajek moves past Tinordi and now Tinordi when he comes back never sees the ice again.

Maybe even a team looking for a 7th D-man comes calling--doubtful but someone like Arz or even Buffalo would take a chance.

Fat chance they'll set about breaking up established links. Not after two losses.
Even Nemeth is unlikely to go unless things really go south.

Speaking of Buffalo a name I haven't heard and I'm not sure if Buffalo would deal him but how does everyone feel with:

Victor Olofsson--he can play RW has had a 20 goal season in the past--5 goal and 10 assists so far this year. Could he fit in with say:

CK--Zibs--Olofsson
or
Laf--Zibs--Olofsson
or
Bread--Strome--Olofsson

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Victor--salary is 3 million.

He won't get pp1 time. He'll struggle to find production on this team.

Panarin Strome Kakko
Laffy Zibanebad Kreider
Chytil Rooney Gauthier
Hunt Goodrow Reaves

I still think Barron should get a look and some time before moves are made. It's unfortunate but it may take an injury, covid protocol or a losing streak for it to happen.

They looooove him in Terry land and he’s under team control. He’s not going anywhere. I think Hertl is a good deadline target for us.

I personally doubt they deal him. I wonder if we could move Nemeth+ for one of their UFA D. Someone like Miller, Butcher or even Psysk to replace Nemeth for the season and help clear cap space for next season. Also at least they get a D who is under team control and whatever the + would be.

I don't think Chytil is going to be here at the deadline if he continues to fail to get traction.

Nemeth has a six team no trade list or something like that. I'm sure Buffalo is on that list.

I could see the Rangers looking at someone like Calvin De Haan as well from Chicago. UFA to be. 30 years old. Can slot up to the top-4 in a pinch if needed but mainly a bottom-pairing d-man. He's making $5.4m this year in real salary ($4.55m cap hit) so he may be a bit pricey for some teams as a rental which should help drive the price-tag down in a trade.

Tomorrow's game against the Avalanche will be a good litmus test and a game that the coaches would probably make changes based on more than the last three. Avalanche were a schedule loss, Buffalo was a win, and Nashville was a mediocre effort but still a really close game. If they get the doors blown off in Colorado, then you make a change. If they gather themselves and play well--especially if they win--then you're happy to keep things the same. No 82 game season goes perfectly, you just have to know when it's a lull and when it's a problem. I trust Gallant to determine that difference a lot more than I did Quinn.

Theres no way they are breaking up Strome and Bread

Then they need Kakko on the other wing.

The Chemistry Bro's being married (Z+K; P+S) is a huge reason the pieces struggle to fit. If Zib and Kreider on line 1 don't produce that's a headache, and it hasn't worked with Kakko there even if he has served them up with the puck on a platter. Kakko defers too much on that line and doesn't get the puck back enough in good positions.

Panarin and Strome are too easy to push out to the perimeter creating another problem on line 2. Strome working with Kakko on the other wing forces teams to give up their focus on Panarin, and creates an actual working line, but it took Gallant putting his foot down before that happened.

Unfortunately for the Rangers the pieces fit together like a Picasso Cubism piece. Hunt and Gauthier are not nearly skilled enough to be top 6 players.

I hope the bug is gone so it doesn't distract from seeing what is there. If several players were poorly then the lack of jump is a given.

Does G to Chi make sense? Laik has been ok, but is a UFA. MAF might be moved as a rental and maybe retire after this season. Would G for say Nylander been an ok deal? Not sure if either side adds. Would love to get MAF as a BU in case Shesty gets injured again as well.
