if anyone subscribes to Vince,
please, sure would be curious his key points and speculations about who they'd move or what they'd pay, for what type of guy ....

The Journal News

Says Hertl would have to be explored. Doesn't sound like Kessel, Tarasenko or Reilly Smith are likely targets. Mentions Athanasiou, Lekhonen, Jarnkrok, Ennis. Pavelski, Rust and Rodriguez if their teams fall out of it.

The Hurricanes are not trading Fast. They might trade a guy like Niederreiter but the Rangers don’t need another LW. It wouldn’t necessarily shock me if Trocheck was low key available, but if he is, that is because he has been pretty bad this season; but like NN he is going into walk year.
Yea I doubt they would, just ironic.
Someone mentioned Lehkonen, he’s a solid target. Donskoi, Jarnkrok, etc. guys that have 1-2 years left on their deals.
Rust would cost 1st plus prospect. Don’t think I’d pay that.
Rodrigues is interesting. Could be a solid buy low candidate.
I think guys like Tank, Rust, Hertl, etc guys that cost 1st plus are likely going to the top contenders at the deadline, and that ain’t us.
I doubt Drury wants to trade our 1st this year

Some rumblings that Fiala is available. I'd love to add him. He'd be a great piece in the top 6.

What would be cost? Big fan of his. Almost a point a game last two seasons with minn.
But good point about the left wing. The one position we have solidified right now

He makes too much for us.

We really can't afford to spend money on anyone that's not a 2C.

He only has one year left on his deal. I think we have enough room to add him for the year. If we can’t resign him then we can flip him over the summer since he’s an RFA.

This is all dependent on cost though. Not sure what that would look like

Yeah and then you get to go into the locker room and tell your team that you just traded your second line center for a lottery ticket. I don't think so.

Do you understand hockey?
You mean the same “second line center” who is going to bolt months from now for nothing? These are grown-ups and they understand the business side of it.

We’ll all see what happens soon enough.

Sometimes you have to make decisions for the good of the franchise that might not be for the good of the current year’s incarnation of the team.

For a second round pick I would understand passing. For Jason Robertson and a first, the locker room would just have to suck it the f*** up.

By the way, you don’t have the monopoly on how to run an organization just cause you have ties. You are really condescending but you aren’t always right.

This becomes harder to do if the Rangers are in the middle of a playoff push. But if they go on a really bad slide after Christmas and the playoff odds are low, Drury would be foolish to not at least see what the offers would be.

Blueshirt Breakaway podcast had a guest on last week who covers Vegas, he said that Reilly Smith might be available for as little as a 6th or 7th because everyone will know they need to deal him to clear space for Eichel.

For that price I’m in.

As would I. Hertl and Smith would be really good adds if this team wants to make a push.

The only guy I'd splurge on is Karlsson or a prospect consolidation ( Turcotte )

If Drury makes a move it will most likely be in the Donskoi, E.Rod mold. A high energy, good skating middle6 tweener
