Cap space is about as valuable, if not more so, than futures.

A good player with retention has tremendous value. A good player on a steal of a contract, has tremendous value.

The dumbass of Chicago is gone. I don't know if they'd trade Hagel but he's the firecracker we need. Gourde is the most celebrated one. A line of Goodrow Chytil Gourde could work.

I wonder if GG can get inside of Chytl’s head and convince him that he’s a beast and go out there and dominate. That and a little more strength, maybe he’s your guy.
Chytils puck skills are not good enough. He's faster than his brain and hands can handle. He's good when he beats people outside with his speed but stickhandling in the middle, at speed, is not his strength.

Gallant has been saying that he has been putting in extra work with our skills coach every practice... . considering we can't do basic things, I don't know if this is good or bad.

I like him at wing and think all of his strengths are still prevalent at wing. Kreider Zibs Chytil could work

No matter what your opinion about who was right or wrong the fact that Kravtsov was allowed to go to Russia for the year is really killing us right now. Now we are desperate for a top 6 right wing, we'll likely trade for someone and regret the package we gave up in the end.

Call up Barron? PLEASE DO NOT USE MCKEGG

Panarin Strome Kakko
Laf Chytil Kreider
Goodrow Barron Gauthier

p.s. I fully expect Rooney to bump up and McKegg getting 4th line time.

Let's be real, they're not going all in but they will do something at the deadline to add. It's going to be very similar to 2006-2012 where the team added complimentary pieces more more so than 2013-2016 where they gave up a lot . I expect the 2nd in the Buch trade, Robertson, Kravstov, Skinner, and mid round picks all to be in play for a rental or middle six piece.

I mean, I understood not wanting Barron to sit in the press box(when Gauthier went in for Blais). I'd rather see him get 20 min a night in Hartford. But if Zib is out for an extended period of time, and they dont call him up, I'm going to be disappointed with this front office.

But even if they didnt allow him to go to Russia, I dont think he was coming back even with the injuries popping up.

To gain assets to make the team better for a longer period of time. With that said, if the offers for him are 2- 3rds or a 3rd and a fringe prospect, you just hold onto him and enjoy the run. If you can get a 1st in this draft or a 2nd and decent prospect, you have to consider it.

they’re not dealing from the top 6 for future assets while having a good shot at the playoffs. Dolan wants playoffs now. The players need playoffs. The fans want playoffs. It’s not the time to mess with the lineup for futures.

This team is not ready for prime time. The goal should be to make the playoffs. Winning a round is a bonus.

Unless Igor goes full Ken Dryden for two months and Kravstov turns into 1986 Claude Lemieux, that's not happening.

Molly just posted that the rangers have no plans on extending strome! Early Christmas present for everyone!

Strome might still be back. It might be a "grass is always greener" scenario where he thinks he can get like $6.5-7 for five to six years and no teams bite, and with radio silence him and the Rangers work something out for three years at a discount.

They could if they decide to recoup assets they spend on a top 6 option they feel is a better fit now and long term.

There's is little to no need to trade for additional futures. Our NHL lineup is all but set for the foreseeable future. We have a 2nd wave of kids on the way. If we keep and make our draft picks, we will be fine.

The only asset needed is our long term 2C, Stromes replacement.

Is that player in the org already? Or will we need to acquire him? I don't think Chytil has the IQ/gamesense to be a top6C but he will be given every opportunity this season. If it doesn't work, we will more than likely go out and get one in the offseason. Unless Drury could pull off a miracle trade at the deadline.

Ward was on with Mitch yesterday and suggested that the Habs need to reboot and specifically brought up the Rangers now that we lost Blais and suggested that maybe Gallagher would be a match with us. In the words of Tony....IS THIS A JOKE.

Someone mentioned Greenway a page back and I’m intrigued if he is indeed available. He’s a winger, yes, but when he’s playing well, he’s a force out there physically.

I had a suggestion, but now I'm not so sure

He is a homeless man's Brian Boyle playing a less valuable position.

I mean the discount would likely need to be steep. The rangers likely cant even afford him at his current salary next year. Thats a heavy ego hit for someone who's likely a 50 point player.
Also i imagine a team like buffalo might take him to get to the floor.
