Look at Gusev. 76 points in 59 games while playing 16 minutes a game.
Look at Dawes only about ten points back

Yeah, people always use Dawes to prove the "KHL sucks" but damn, Dawes is a damn good player who could be a contributor in the NHL at this point in his career. People always think Dawes is still the same player he was when he was 26 but he developed from being a 3rd liner in the KHL to being a top line player. The same way Zuccarello developed because when Zuccarello was 26, he wasn't even an NHL regular.

What can you do? Buffalo stinks. They will always stink.

They are going to trade their pieces and hopefully we slide over the next month plus

They need to sell asap.

It's unreasonable to expect them to do it this far out from the TDL, but it'd go a long way.

They need to thoroughly get their asses kicked to start a slide. We're fortunate that they haven't picked up more points this month though, the schedule has really broken their way and they've played pretty well.

Well, thankfully they play the Pens next, so this shouldn't be an issue for much longer.

As for SOS, it's not great looking ahead.

Yeah they lose against the pens sunday but then would you be shocked if they win 3 of their following 4 games? I know there is still 20 games plus left but starting to lose patience

Depends.

Do Hayes and Zucc get scratched somewhere along the way? Do we have a goalie steal a game or continue to have teams toss backups our way (this has been a mixed bag, you have games like the philly one where the goalie steals one, then ones like Toronto and Tonight where the back up plays like a back up.)

I will be monumentally pissed if JG continues to play his UFA's to be through next Sunday. I don't think he will, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

CAR/MIN/NJD/WSH?

I can see them winning MIN/NJD. Probably not WSH. CAR is the wild card.

Remember, for a long time recently, it was really only the top line scoring and no one else. Funnily enough, and thanks to BUF being ass, it was the opposite tonight. I don't think that secondary scoring is going to come in clutch down the stretch to the TDL.

Also, Hayes/Zucc are probably going to be sat in at least the NJD/WSH games. Maybe against MIN? Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe against CAR? Probably not vs PIT. Take them out of the equation, and it's likely they rack up some losses.

Losing McQuaid but getting back Claesson is actually a net positive, but depends on how Quinn/Ruff deploy the D.

Yeah losing to pitt and possibly winning Car/Min/NJD or at least getting 5 of 6 points in those games.

I really think JG realizes this as much as we do and is trying his best to get these trades done ASAP. Those assholes in Ott are ruining everything right now lol. They should without a doubt be signing Stone/Duchene and Dzingel...All of them. Give those fans something. Instead its truly holding things up and possibly driving value down for sellers.
By the way now we are winning games with our backup.

I don't think most of them are going to sell to the extent that the Rangers will.

Ottawa is a lost cause and very well may but we aren't catching them anyway. Pretty much everyone in the west is still in it.
The west is our only hope right now (minus the Oilers they are a lost cause as well). Thank goodness the west is so mediocre that teams like the laughable oilers have a "chance". Still teams like the Ducks, Oilers and even the Wild may be sellers.

Yeah, OTT is holding up a lot of things. But the latest word is that they will figure out what they're going to do with Stone/Duchene/Dzingel this weekend. So in theory, once they go, everyone else will follow suit.

Gorton can't do anything if he has plans with other GMs set, but they are all telling him "Let's see what OTT does first..." Literally nothing he can do in that case.

Custance said in The Athletic that there are some teams who are legitimately interested in Zucc/Hayes, and not just after-thoughts if they lose out on Stone/Duchene/etc., but even those teams are waiting on the OTT shoe to drop.

Buyers aren't just looking to see what the prices for players will be be...but WHO is paying for them, and if they're in the same division or not.

I hope taking the day off from work to watch the TDL will be well worth it?!?!

Just tune in for the last half hour. Trade deadline day last year was pretty brutal until the McDonagh trade at the last minute. Everything got done before deadline day if I remember correctly.

For those who are wondering what the return for Zuccarello is gonna be. Eklund has Nashville currently with the most interest. This just for speculating on the return.
Wonder if Rangers added to Zuccarello for a better return. Fabbro or 1st would be nice.

Friedman said on his and Marek's podcast that he sees four legit "buyers." Nashville, Calgary, Winnipeg and, surprisingly, the Islanders.

Obviously all the talk about Ottawa holding everyone up etc etc.

I think nobody knows what the hell is going to happen. The good GMs aren't saying anything.
