Right now they're worth more to us than not having them, does that make sense? Lol

No, and if we can package them with a 1st or 2nd and Nils Lundkvist for Connor (or Laine) you do that 100 times out of 100.

I don't even know how anyone could argue against that. Pionk and Buchnevich are not that great. They will likely never be anything more than complementary pieces (if that).

I don't think that package comes close to getting it done for Connor or Laine, but if you can get talks started, I'd add a significant piece to that package to get one of those 2 guys here.

Quality >>>>>>>> Quantity. It's much easier to build a team around a guy like Connor or Laine than to build a team around 4 mediocre pieces.

I'd be pretty interested in a young player like Donato for sure.
ill admit i dont know too much about donato other then his play in the olympics, hes probably their best prospect they have and i know hes generally in the top 50 of nhl prospects

his ceiling is probably that of a 2nd line player? if hayes beings back bostons first plus donato i guess i wouldnt be too upset but other then him and their finnish defensemen i cant really say anything jumps off the page that screams 1st or 2nd line potential

If we got one of those guys, our core instantly becomes pretty decent, especially if we can somehow find our way into the top 3-5 of the draft this year.

Yeah I would say he projects as a 2nd liner. 22 years old, skilled center for sure.

If it were Hayes, I'd hope for something like:
Donato + Frederic + BOS 1st '19

Or something like that

Good prospect
Depth prospect
1st rounder

i agree that the proposal isnt horrible

i guess for me id rather try to pry tolvanen from nashville or kaprizov from minnesota

I agree with you. I would rather see a prime Grade A prospect coming back but I just don't think that's going to happen at the deadline. Probably looking at that 2nd tier of guys around the league vs the top-10 or 15 leaguewide.

Jacob Forsbacka-Karlsson would be another kid I'd be interested in. He knows Quinn from BU.

Yeah, I was a very vocal fan of his in his draft year, would have taken him over Gropp. You're probably right the Boston would rather trade him and play the Quinn angle. But right now I think Studnicka is the better Prospect.

ehhh teams going for the cup trade prospects like that alot

back on tolvanen it looks like nashville is ready to move him to win the cup, their window wont stay open forever, him and fabbro are guys im targeting

Nobody said anything about Laine for that package, that s ridiculous, he was talking about Connor.

Right now every Prospect we have is a valuable asset, Pionk and Buch have not set the world on fire but they're still young and hold some value as young cheap players. They're not as valuable as some of the other prospects we have but like I said when you don't have a lot of prospects all of your prospects are kind of valuable.

I feel like we hear that every year though and maybe they would move him for someone like Panarin or Stone. I just don't see it as a likely target for a guy like Hayes

I think if that was actually the case the trade would’ve been done by now, or GMs/scouts don’t think Tolvanen is as good as fan bases do
tolvanen is a consensus top 30 prospects by scouts so while i agree with you that if it was that easy itd be done already i still believe that nashville needs to go all in right now

Yeah, I definitely think we should be open to do deals like that. Trade someone like Lundkvist if we can get some other player we like more. I am not the biggest fan of Connor, but in principle I agree with you.

Two best players (not merely prospects) right now outside of the NHL. I doubt it’s a secret.

Look at Gusev. 76 points in 59 games while playing 16 minutes a game.
