Have we gave up on Anderson already?
Ehh I don't see Andersson becoming a 2C anytime soon.

I know people bring up Scheifele; if he becomes that in 3 years we'll worry about that then. It's safer to say he'll be a 3rd line center

Something to remember is that Duchene is not a good defensive player. Most playoff teams have a good #1C taking prime offensive minutes. Having another offensive guy as a 2C may not be ideal. Hayes does both

Not asking anyone if we should offer it, but what do people think Zucc would say to a 5 year contract at 5.25 per, with signing bonuses and full NTC for years 1-2, partial NTC years 3-5

That's a better deal than he'll get on the open market, he'd rush to sign it before JG reclaimed his mental capacities.

He's already making 4.5, so what do you think he would require to stay off the market? I don't see it being less than that.

It’s not the cap hit for me, it’s the term. I’m sure a team will offer that but that will be because they’re competing now. Those teams will deal with the latter years because it enhances their chances of a cup for the next few years. Say, Calgary or Boston.

I’d offer that deal at 3 years this offseason but I’d still trade him at this deadline

So I've been kind of disconnected lately, so I may have missed something, but isn't the whole "sulking" thing a bit exaggerated? From what I gather, he admitted to letting trade talks affect his game for a period, stated that it shouldn't have done so and came back playing some of his best hockey as a Ranger?

I think most players have let outside factors negatively affect their effort level from time to time, but admitting to it may be more rare.

That said, they should try and get what they can for him, and shouldn't bring him back this summer either, unless he signs an insanely team friendly deal. And even if they did, he shouldn't (won't) be a candidate for captain, nor do I think he'd want it. The young group they'll be bringing into next year will need a vocal captain. Zuccs, I belive, has taken a step back and become less vocal since the head injury, and even before that he was more of a jester than your typical #1 leader.

It was real. He was a shell of what he had been partly due to injury partly due to whiny baby syndrome

Hes been much better last month
