I really dont think we will resign either of them, but i do think that people going back and forth on this standpoint are driving me nuts. If you get a Nash return you let Hayes go, and let Zucc go for a Grabner return and see if he wants to cme back come July. Then get 1 big fish for the simple benefit of having another role model for the kids, EK65 is the perfect guy for our young D to work with. Panarin is the perfect guy for Krava and Buch. Hell Stone if he’s available would simply be a no brainer for this team. Its not about becoming a bubble team, its about starting to get to the next step of the huild which is building a winning culture for the kids to develop in.

I'm still surprised people take everything thats said at face value. It is almost like some of you have never handled a negotiation before...

When you're dealing with someone you know in a one on one transaction, you're more likely to go straight to the point. When you are dealing with a wide variety of people, some of which you have never dealt with before, there is an insane amount of posturing and bullshitting that goes on.

People are bored and the trade deadline is stupidly late. Idle hands....

It doesn't help that our GM likes to wait either.

Anyway, if JG were to sign both guys before the TDL, he'd basically be writing his own pink slip. He wouldn't survive here for longer than 2 more seasons.
 
I am kinda annoyed that we are waiting last minute. We have a few guys to move and it will be hard to negotiate all of them last minute.

I do not want to hear 2 Years in a row that a certain player didn’t get moved because you were negotiating a different deal last minute.

Certainly shouldn't. I like what he's done thus far but if he did this I'd be fine with sending him packing before the draft. No sense in waiting when it would only delay the inevitable.

Both players have 1 year left on their contracts, and Gagner's cap hit is 50k higher than Spooner's.
 
4th team for Spooner in less than 1 calendar year.

He needs to get his ass to Europe if he wants to continue playing hockey professionally.

idk if Spooner would do well in Europe either tbh. He just seemed so disinterested in hockey while he was here and his attitude was the same in EDM. Maybe he just wants to be a full time DJ

My guess is that they wanted to see how he performed which was pretty decent. They know they have insurance if for some odd reason a defender is moved this coming week. Lindgren can probably play 3rd pair next season.
 
I think we have to re-sign Hayes. 6 years 35M. I do not know what he's asking for but it cant be far away from that number.

There's no 2C coming anytime soon. He's been producing with suspect linemates and has seemed to take a leadership position. This is not someone you trade.

EDM are active even without a GM, they have to be due to getting Sekeras back, but still.

Hajak and Pionk for Kassian, Nurse and Puljujärvi?
 
We don’t have to sign hayes or zucc, but we should be negotiating team friendly extensions for either or both if the market is trying to force our hand
