Who would they be interested in Bob?
I don't know because I'm not sure how deep they are willing to go in moving a piece in return. There has been a lot of chatter about their center/forward depth and the Rangers defensive depth. The teams certainly match up and they have a pronounced need. Right now, they need someone who can run a powerplay. Doughty was their PP1 and Walker was their PP2. Seems to me that Lundkvist and Jones would be pieces that would fit for them. They are somewhat short on the left side in their system so that points the arrow even more to Jones.

Now, who do you want back?

We have four top D prospects, a Kravstov, a Strome, a 16-2??? First.

How do we not have the absolute hands down best package for a young C on a team where he's stuck behind a better than Zbad C?
We do but it's something we'll most likely see happen sometime next season instead of the current one. Unless Drury gets a crazy deal they will ride this season out with Strome and see where to go from there.

No interest in Reunanen for a lesser prospect if no one wants to take the big risk?

Depending upon what the Kings want, I thought Anderson-Dolan might be an option, though he lacks that top-end upside. Top-9-ish? I find it interesting they called up Kupari instead of him.

Speaking of Kupari, I figure he might be the one.

I can't see Turcotte or Byfield being available, and I don't think Vilardi would be out there..

If the Kings org thinks anything like Kings fans, they value all of their top C prospects (Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, Kupari) higher than all of our trade bait (Kravtsov, Jones, Lundkvist, Schneider). I’d like to chalk that up to their fans being ignorant of our pool but I’m not so sure.

I dont see why the Knights would be interested in Kravtsov considering their wing depth is very deep atm. Dadonov and Tuch are their 3rd line wingers. They need a center. Would love Brisson but it's not happening. I still think we should trade Krav for a forward that can help with scoring right now. Some guys I would be interested in that we can realistically acquire for Kravtsov

Dominik Kubalik (Buch 2.0)
Tyler Toffoli (good secondary scoring so our only sniper isn't Zib)
Victor Olofsson (PP help, arguably has a better shot than Zib)
Eric Robinson (more physical Gauthier, possible Josh Anderson 2.0)
Connor Brown (high end defense and playdriver)
Jordan Greenway (huge, upside, good down low)

All have differing values and playstyles of course but would be valuable additions
The only real way it makes sense is if they're making a deal for eichel that eats some of their current wing depth And they need to replenish it with cheaper talent that can play right now

Kreider Zibs Kakko
Panarin Strome Chytil
Laf Goodrow Blais
Hunt Rooney Gauthier

This lineup is better than the other way around.

In all fairness we live on a Board that highly over rate our players as well. I mean after 6 games some are already predicting FC may be traded by mid year when just a few weeks ago some declared him as a Stud number 2 center. Fact is they should have traded either Strome or Chytl in the summer and brought in a young impact center. I hate to say this but if nothing happens between now and the end of this season we are going to have the same questions marks at center behind Zibs as Strome will be a FA and FC has been basically non existent.

@BobSantos and @Uninstaaled to answer my Kreider question: I'd like to see him cycling by winning puck battles and holding onto the puck for 2-3 seconds and getting it to another teammate. I don't think he's done any of that this year. I'm talking like how the Dubisky-Anisimov-Callahan line and later Hagelin used to work.

I'll check again next game but it looks as if Kreider is getting the puck knocked off his stick immediately.

Hunt, Reaves, and Blais (the later as a solo artist or when he's with Laf and Chytil) have all done this.

Everything was fine here until you put Ogrodnick and winning board battles in the same sentence. That has yet to happen.

LOL forgive me it's been over thirty years and I was very very young. I remember Kissio being physical not as a grinder but just giving his all, and Ogrodnick scoring a bunch of goals in 1989-90 and 1990-91.

You are forgiven. What I remember about that line is that in the 3rd period they would often get benched in favor of the 4th checking line when the Rangers had a lead. Roger Nielsen could coach the hell of of a mediocre team. Kelly Kisio was my daughters first favorite player (she was 6 or 7 at the time)

I definitely remember Nielsen using guys like Jansens, Malette, King, Broten, Kevin Miller, and later Gihlen a lot more like a modern hockey coach wold role four lines today. That was one of the reasons they got Kocur in 1991 along with the toughness lol.

Loved Captain Video. I was in Vancouver at a bachelor party during the 2012 lockout, and my friends went to the Casino close to Rogers Arena, I told them I'll meet them in an hour just to find the Roger Neilsen statue.

This very much pertains to us. Our skill guys need to buy in. They Fought Quinn to the death and Brooks just did an article claiming Gallant is all over them to do the same. Our to guys want to play pond hockey and until that changes we aren’t winning. Looking at Strome Panarin mostly here. I feel kreider is working hard Mika is working hard but Strome Panarin have got to get on board

of course we need more from lafreniere Chytil kakko as well. I’m a big Chytil fan but I have not liked his game at all thus far

Every coach has that player that the fans dislike but that they trust.

And for Roger it was Jody Hull.

Panarin has been a lazy f*** the first few games, and I'm pretty sure it's due to being out of shape. Which is pretty f***ing inexcusable for a guy you're paying $12M on a buyout-proof, lockout-proof deal with a full no-move. Strome at least looks like he's been trying.

Panarin has been on the ice at 5v5 for 109 goals for and 64 goals against since he became a Ranger. He's 3rd in the league in 5v5 points. Maybe he knows better than the coach what he needs to do to be successful.

Maybe we need to build a team to win and not concern ourselves with individual success.

Here is a stat for you;

Since Panarin became a Ranger they have won zero playoff games and got in to one qualifying round due to a pandemic.

The answer here would seem to be a player like Reunanen. The Kings get a young skilled offensive d-man who probably won't break the bank.
