Love the talk about legal interference. Teams take a lot of time to grow when you've been playing Quinn's hockey without many NHL elements for a long time.

Sutter's team took the half season last season to get up to speed to start this season. We're in tough but there's still hope. Gerard is highlighting a lot of good stuff. The lines can still work I bet despite what we've all been saying. Just need more from the defensive end of the center ice, more puck possession, more controlled breakouts.

Staple released a write up today interviewing Nash, Boyes, and Engelland (players from his previous three stops: CBJ, FLA, VGK):

Best quote for me came from Brad Boyes:

“I’ve had some coaches who really preached the technical aspects of the game: Mike Babcock and Andy Murray. Turk wasn’t quite like that,” Boyes said. “We had Mike (Kelly) and John Madden for more of that stuff. But Turk ran the video meetings and in practices, it was all about habit. There weren’t any subtle changes or alterations to the system, even when we were struggling. You were expected to learn by repetition, to make it so that you weren’t thinking on the ice, just doing. That took some time.”

It's still only been 13 games. Our numbers have tanked the since heading out West to Seattle. We've heard about the burnout--road games and a dense schedule. It's hard to fathom this team getting worse, so it's really just a matter of when, if, and how much better.

I liked that quote about Turk wanting to the players to achieve the instinctual level (what in Japanese martial arts is called Mushin - No Mind). Kakko especially but also Laf need to get out of their heads and into their instinctive style. We know Kakko can play with an uncanny speed on that level. Micromanaging which side of the stick they are allowed to carry the puck is exactly the opposite, it's guaranteed to plant you firmly in the conceptual thinking mind, the opposite to instinctual level.

Holding my breath until after the new year on this. Depths can be fathomed (injuries, HOT NEW RUSSIAN MOB THREATS) just as much as the light turning on in Laf and Kakko.

I don’t disagree, but Crosby did it while being a top 10 player of all time that was a play driving center with a good 2 way game, which Panarin is not.

I’ve said it before, but the team went out and made a big commitment to the worst player on Tampa’s energy line and is now using him as a crutch that I’m most definitely not comfortable using him as. A 29 year old with a career high of 26 points is not who I want centering our 2nd line.

Maybe I’m being irrational though.
You’re not being irrational at all, our standards are just laughably low at this point

This team needs Strome more than it needs Kreider.

1. Zibs - Chytil - Goodrow/Barron
2. Zibs - Kadri - Goodrow/Barron
3. Zibs - Karlsson - Goodrow/Barron
4. Zibs - Goodrow/Barron - Turcotte

These our the scenarios imo. What am I missing?
Not confident in #1. Would love to be surprised though.
Like #2 if he comes at a decent price.
Love #3.
Love #4.

No scenario 1 or 4 please. Goodrow, Chytil and Barron aren't top-6 center material.

Why are people so infatuated with William Karlsson? Vegas would unload him in a heart beat and for good reason, he had a big year and had now come to earth and continues to slide year to year.

Goodrow is supposed to be in the 3rd line behind Kakko and Kravtsov on the right side.....Drury f'd this up no matter what you think of Kravtsov, Drury has it now that he couldn't recall him if he wanted to until Kravtsov's season is over. DONKEY
