That would be a very, very bad start to his career there if he reacted this way.

If he doesn’t want to be traded somewhere, say Anaheim, all he has to do is release a statement saying “I don’t want to play for Anaheim” and then they won’t trade for him because they won’t want a player who doesn’t want to play there

Also, not that it matters one bit, but if someone got bona fide insider information that (a) Eichel has a “preferred destination” and (b) it’s NYC — I think that somebody would make a bigger deal of it than just a remark flying by in an interview like that.

I think 100% it’s just someone trying to know more than he does, who believes that Eichel wants to go here.

It would be pretty cool if he was like traded to Anaheim and then Eichel instantly tweeted something like “What I have done to piss off the universe, first Buffalo and now this shit hole???”

Mike Futa was assistant GM for the Kings up until like a year ago, he's pretty legit.

I would think that Boston would be at the top of his list for preferred teams above the Rangers anyway.

Is Buffalo really that dreary? I've been there and it was not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be IMO

Im not sure when you went, but it’s pretty bad IMO. Especially in the winter during the season.

Gray skies, high crime, freezing temp, and that dirty snow that doesn’t want to melt. I’m sure there are some pluses, but if I had a limited NTC then Buffalo would be near the top of my list.

Depends on your vibe.

It’s cheap for a city of its size.

But the weather is poor, lots of sprawling ghettos etc.

I like snowy weather but I know I’m outnumbered in that category by people who like beaches and warm temperatures.

I enjoy snow as well, but it gets pretty dramatic up there

The people in Buffalo are amazing. The fans are phenomenal honestly for all the shit talking many people do. They have a very small market and their fans are rabidly loyal.

The downtown is poor but the suburbs aren't bad and they have some pretty good restaurants/sports bars/etc.

I went to school up there and I can understand some people not wanting to be up there but it's not as bad as many people claim.
