Apparently Brassard and Kessel have found some chemistry on the 3rd line. If Zuccarello recaptures his old Brassard chemistry too, that's a formidable 3rd line for the playoffs.
When do folks think trades will start happening? Early February?
Any whisperings or rumours about who might end up where and for what?
Just sit back and watch them lose.
It’s either laughing or crying.
The team sucks. Let them suck hard so they’re no illusions about the team. None of this we’re a competitive team so we don’t have to rebuild hard and we can sign a player or two this summer and we’ll be back on top before you know it.
They make mistakes all over the ice
They have 12 ROW in 43 games. 12. They can’t win a game on the road. They are 2-3-5 in their last 10 home games.
I laugh at Staal’s follies. In the Vegas game, Staal stepped up in the neutral zone and Eakin broke in all alone to score. Staal’s shot on the 3rd Vegas goal missed the net by 50 feet and Vegas scored on a breakaway at the other end. Staal decides to change when Pionk passes the puck to no one and Barzal comes in on Lundqvist all alone. 1-1. On the game winning goal, Staal has Clutterbuck in front of him and Pionk is looking at something else which sees Bailey all alone in the slot. 4-3.
The Rangers should keep rolling Staal and Pionk out there. Don’t break up that pairing.
We’d better hope Lebrun is really wrong about Zucc’s value? Throwing out an early third rounder out there as a main component? That’s brutal.
Just some perspective; As someone in his 30s who witnessed the dark ages firsthand and was in college for a big part of it (without many friends there and before the days of facetime, texting your home friends all across the world, watching games on your phone) this is a breeze. Remember players then took much longer to be called up and the Rangers had nothing in their system. Anytime a Thomas Pock or Chad Wiseman was called up, it was like giving a drop of water to someone who had been stuck in the desert for a month. It stinks right now and last night's game had an awful ending (I grew up on LI for a decent chukn of my life and I hate that fanbase, most obnoxious scoundrels in all of sports) but as someone else
said to quote Triple H, it's what's best for business. This team gets a top five pick and any of Hughes/Kakko/Podz/Dach/Byram/Cozens plus with 2 or three other moves this summer, next year becomes much better. Also keep in mind during 08-04 there was no Netflix, no DVR, no YouTube, no instant access to music, and less instant reporting or interaction with guys like McKenzie, Dregger, etc. So even if we live and die with this team, there is plenty more to help us get through this rough patch.

I’m giving you a ‘like ‘ for the overall post, but I disagree that things will be better next year. Henke will be a year older, the defense either still has a lot of the high-priced declining vets, or has bunch of mistake-prone young Dmen that are still developing, and the depth at forward takes a hit with Hayes and Zuccarello getting moved. They are likely to still be a bottom five team next year at this time.
the way he played his last season or so with us, i thought he had already defacto retired anyway.
