Again, I'm with you on that point.
But am I balking at a player with high offensive upside because a) he lacks other elements or b) I feel like we're in a position to turn that down? No.
I don't see this as a "medium range" team and I still want bullets in the chamber. We can worry about nuance when more chips are in place.
To be honest. With the clocks turning back. I have a hard time making it past 830 right now. I’ve woke up 45 mins ago, having already slept for 4 hrs.
Now trend is up for 2-3 hours and then maybe I get back to sleep for another 2-3 hours after that
And no I’m not a wizard, I’m a troll

That's like step 15 and we're on step 2.

If Strome was able to produce another level of grit, be it by becoming stronger or meaner, I would advocate to resign him because he added that element.
What he means is "play harder" is more impoetant for teams on the cusp of being contenders as oppoaed to teams in the modst of a rebuild.
We need to get more skill in here. While I agree that teaching the kids to play hard early is a good thing, it's not a main focus right now for the team as a whole. We aren't gritting our way to a cup here.
If the Rangers decided to trade Georgiev, there should be a very good market for him. You can make the argument about Georgiev is better than most of the starting goaltenders on other teams. Any team trading for Georgiev will have to protect him in the expansion draft. So many teams don't even have a legit goaltending prospect in the pipeline.
Boston has Rask signed for one more season. He will 34 at the end of his contract. They don't have a young goaltender in their system.
Georgiev would be the best goaltender on Buffalo. He is better than Hutton, Ullmark and the Finn goalie prospect playing in the ECHL.
The Red Wings goaltenders stink. Bernier and Howard. Georgiev would be #1 there.
Florida and Montreal have two goaltenders signed for big money and big term. Florida has Knight.
Georgiev would #1 in Ottawa. They don't have any long term option there either.

Shesterkin has a KHL assignment clause. Is it for next season too? Kravtsov had the clause for just this season. We saw what happened with him. Rykov has the clause in his contract next season in the second year. He missed the first three months of this season with a high ankle sprain.
Brooks is mental. Two weeks ago, he wrote there was a changing of the guard in net for the Rangers with Georgiev getting more starts. A few days later, Brooks was on the New York Post Rangers podcast hosted by Ron Duguay. Brooks says Lundqvist will be a Ranger until the end of his current contract. When Andersson quit the Pack in the AHL, Brooks wrote the Rangers have to be concerned about Shesterkin bolting for Russia after the Kravtsov and Andersson situations. Something has to give. The changing of the guard will come with Shesterkin taking over as #1. The Rangers should call up Shesterkin this season. Reward him for his good play. Give him a few starts.

The Blues traded Shattenkirk in 2017 to the Caps. They were a playoff team and they couldn't re-sign him. They traded him for futures.
Kreider saw what happened to Shattenkirk who turned down multiple 7 year offers to take the Rangers 4 year offer and the Rangers bought Shattenkirk out after the 2nd season. Shattenkirk left so much money on the table to play in New York. Shattenkirk isn't recouping that money this summer. The market is loaded with free agent D. Kreider isn't stupid. He should take the best offer this summer. Just like Hayes did. New York City isn't the end all and be all. So many people are fleeing New York these days for numerous reasons.

Since I doubt the Rangers will find takers in Smith or Staal, both should get bought out this summer so the Rangers have flexibility to do what needs to be done this offseason. Also frees up roster spots.
They would save $3.7MM next season and then the following season there would be a total charge of $1.8MM.

Kreider could tic a lot of boxes for some GMs and coaches. He is business, for good and bad. But you are getting a force of nature, we all know that Kreider isn’t always very effective, but he ‘could’ be.
Pittsburg is a little worn down. They don’t have that extreme drive.
With that said, I don’t know what Pittsburg got to offer. I am not a big fan of their prospects (Hållander included). Poulin is OK. Two 1st’s?

Everything I’m reading says the Rangers haven’t made Kreider avail at this point.
Galchenyuk is a pending UFA that hasn't worked out as hoped, it might be a perfect situation where you can buy low. Former 30 goal scorer, even with the inconsistencies there's things to like. Zibby is only a year apart and just recently started putting together all the aspects it takes to reach that next level, especially off the ice, so can that rub off on him? The Sens added a 2nd in the Brassard trade, if the Pens don't see Alex in their future can you get them to add a pick?

They should sell Kreider and Fast, they are pending UFAs and neither contract is going to fit the player when the Rangers would maybe be ready to compete in the playoffs for real.
They are likely to lose Lias for not much, they still are short on forward prospects. Take the picks and either use them or trade them again for something closer or already in the NHL later.
Sign their RFAs, DeAngelo will have value on his next contract no matter what. Lemieux likely too. Strome is the tricky one, I'd probably sign him for his last RFA year and deal with his UFA years later.
I'd keep Georgiev, without him any injury or down turn with Shesterkin over the next couple years means the Rangers have gone from goalie strong to goalie weak.
If they are trading out a defender, it should really probably be Skjei who seems to have plateaued into the same thing he was when they gave him a long term instead of a bridge. Yet since he is under contract for some years he'd have some value. He is the type of player and contract that will help them stay right in the dreaded middle, same for Kreider and Fast.
Use some combination of their own futures and/or the futures they get from Kreider, Fast, Skjei to replace Kreider, Fast, Skjei.
