I can't believe with 50% retention this is all Marchand returned

He only had a 8 team no trade clause, I know he wanted to stay with Boston but it is hard to see how well he could have used that strategically to block other suitors. It does feel very light

Something to consider is the Rangers absolute dearth of defensive depth at the AHL level both this year and next likely. There could be a scenario where Drury feels the need to have 8 legitimate NHL d-men on the roster next season. Fortescue and Emery will be in the NCAA likely and the kid they acquired from Vancouver is likely, at minimum, another full season away.

I could see the team liking De Haan and re-signing him for cheap insurance
Similar to trading for Ruhwedal and just keeping him in the minors

Adam Fox acquired a baby.

Honestly perfect timing for Fox to be on IR. I know we’re making a push for the playoffs and having our best Dman is crucial but putting hockey aside most of these guys don’t get to spend a lot of time with their kids, especially when they are born during the season. Happy for foxy and his family.

i'm the squad leader of the k'adre on this board and even I think that if you put miller in that position, you need someone to lead the borgen pair with puck moving and mobility.

Passing to break the puck out: this is what kills the Rangers in the playoffs. every f***ing year. they refuse to hire coaches that make it easy on the players, so you need excellent puck movers to stand a chance.

Miller Fox
Soucy Borgen
Vaak Schneider

it's just not good enough.
So true. Every playoffs the rangers biggest problem is moving the puck up ice with pace. They continue to want to rely on big defenseman who just take up space but never have the puck. It never works.

Haven't kept up much, but any NCAA free agents who might be worth a shot?

Fair enough on the first 2 points but is the bolded really necessary?

Is it even? It’s a shitty post completely dismissing a perspective (spending on goalies) which I’m far from the only person to hold and his “big gun” for the argument is look at the teams that lose Stanley Cups? You want to call me out, that’s fine, but from a realistic perspective, he got his argument fed to him and instead of refuting anything i said he said “oh, like you have a leg to stand on” and “aren’t you broke?”. GTFO. His opinion may be valid, but instead of intellectually defending it he just went to personal attack and the argument he did use to defend his argument was trash. Hey, you wanna win a cup? Look at teams that don't win cups! There was nothing wrong with my reading comprehension. You think 30 years of teams who lost in the finals is more relevant than teams that won. It isn’t, but to make yourself feel better, you want to attack my reading comprehension. I’m sorry, it’s a shit post. After thousands, you’d think you’d be used to it.

Thanks y’all. Mcraine1986@gmail. This site has become a bunch of arrogant know nothing ass hats parading as experts and I’m over it. Adios. I hope for the sake of everyone who remains, and future posters, y’all remember how to humble the f*** up and have an actual conversation.

Goaway - thanks for standing up for point 3, but points 1/2 sucked as well and his attitude does too. Acting like you just hit a home run on the strength of runner up goalies like winning the who slurs less award at the special Olympics. Deuces.

Are we sure he's actually hurt? He might just be pretending to be injured so he can spend time with his family. The same way Kreider was pretending to be hurt to tank his trade value.

Can I have a truce with the Kreider Mafia until the summer? Im rooting for him to make me look like a fool and carry us to and through the playoffs... @Mike in Houston you know it comes from a place of love!
You have a funny way of showing your love.
Our best thoroughbred skater had to do the dirty work of tip ins on all our PP1 b'c nobody else was stud enuf for the assignment;
then cumulative wear and tear, he gets horribly banged up;
then instead of considering him innocent until proven guilty, the gutless wonders --you know who you are and I will not identify by name so as not to get in trouble -- who do not know his exact physical status, all decide he can only be ltir as to treatment, if any treatment.
No consideration to what I said about sit, go partial tilt, full tilt, partial tilt, etc CUSTOMIZE based on HIS ACTUAL EXACT SITUATION

Come back with an admission of this shortcoming before seeking a gesture of conciliation.

There's only like five of us, but speak to our consigliere @bernmeister about the truce.
I am honored by the otherwise apt reference.
However, I make it a policy to only serve The Man Upstairs, and do good.
But I will accept the parallel post to our group of ... Untouchables!

I think the Rangers will either sign or trade for a Fox LD partner. I can also see them bringing back De Haan as a # 8cheap.

Sign/Trade - Fox
Miller - Schneider
Soucy - Borgen
Vaak
De Haan
They just need someone who can look after the back end while Fox, when healthy, does his thing.

Who this is, I'm trying to come up with someone.....

Ahhh, sending Othmann to the minors and playing a guy that was learning to skate again only a few days ago is so on brand for this franchise. Kreider better do something, I dont wanna see him coasting around anymore
I thought Brett Berard and Brennan Othmann were sent down "on paper" only so they are eligible to play in the AHL for the remainder of the regular season and Calder Cup Playoffs.

read pls the immediately preceding post

Why? Will it make Kreider stop coasting or playing injured? If not I'm not interested. He went from a "C" candidate to a sulking, lazy, selfish player. If he comes back healthy and actually puts the team first I'll like him again, if not, don't let the door hit him on the way out.

As far as Othmann is concerned, he’s on the clock the rest of the season. Either he shows he can be a piece on this team or ship him out for something that will be this summer

Cut the kid some slack. He missed a lot of time this year due to injury. He just turned 22. So every prospect fe here on out, if they ain't a regular by 22 you want them traded. I guess your mad Jones isn't dealt cause he's not a regular yet? All prospects develop differently and at a different pace. He only played 8 games with Rangers and in his career. So if Perreault don't sign this summer, you want him dealt too?
