I want to deal Kreider now but if no one wants him, it is what it is. there's a spot for CK on the 3rd line and we do miss him on the PP. Hopefully he can swallow whatever is left of his ego and throw a hit or two down the stretch. Or just keep him on LTIR until the playoffs. makes no difference to me. But Othmann and Berard should still be in the lineup every night as long as they are still on the team.
Yeah, but just think about how many MORE trade Kreider posts you can make between now and the draft.

LOL!

Most damn cap space and we are gonna stand pat?

Don't f***ing wait till the off-season to trade kreider. Just f***ing pull the bandaid. Having him sit around the room after this is sabotage to the room.

Kreider, Othmann, Schneider, Jones, Sykora for Peterka, Byram/Power and Jokiharu. Mega trade!

I tell ya, if people on these boards think Miller is soft, they are clearly lying about watch Power. I don't think he thrown a hit all year.
If you're hoping for rentals, and I can't imagine why you would, then next year's cap space is more of a factor than this year's.

Final thought on the Soucy acquisiton

Soucy-Fox, Miller-Borgen doesn't scream cup contending top 4 to me. It says "We need a damn good forward offense-producing group" because that defense is a pretty far cry from the blue lines of some of the top defensive corps in the league.

But next season as we get a better feel for the new group and build, you can always explore trade upgrades.

I'd be happier if we had a more offensive minded 3LD rather than Vaak. At the very least then you can move adjust and reallocate shifs with Fox depending on the context of the game.

NYR need to have something about their roster that sets them apart to be a cup contender. If it isn't going to be the defense, NYR need to be able to roll 4 exceptional lines.

Could be wrong, though. Maybe Soucy-Schneider ends up the third pairing after a blockbuster trade/signing. But this feels like a band-aid.

NYR have been trying to build with wing-heavy rosters for 20 years. Maybe we do a Pittsburgh and move on from Kreider/Panarin, get a great 3rd line center and try to make this a roster built around great centers, turning players like Cuylle and Othmann into top line players. But it's not like Trocheck and Miller are Crosby and Malkin. What sets the team apart? We're left with goaltending again.

My thought is that Kreider has been playing hurt and they finally told him to sit down and heal up and there's enough there for him to go on IR, but any team trading for him would know that he can suit up and go when needed

the hate that Kreider gets on this forum is f***ing ridiculous. it really all just boils down to being ungrateful. he's one of the greatest Rangers ever. he scored 52, 36 and 39 goals the past three seasons. he willed this team to a win in game 6 of a playoff series last year when it looked like the team was done. yes, he SUCKS this year. but he's allowed to have a down year after all of that. it happens and he's at the age where the decline unfortunately starts to happen. it's possible he's just out of gas. all of the locker room BS is straight up conjecture and really just people here making shit up in their own heads. nobody has any idea what goes on in the locker room.

1LD and 2C are the holes.

Stand pat? Haven't we been one of the busier teams?

Perhaps the offers or negotiations aren't in our best interest?
Selling yeah. But there are players available and there are still players to send out. Best interest as I see it is getting the trouble and excess out as fast as possible so the team can move on. Don't let it hang. However, I'm not in the room so what the hell do I know.

He needs

He needs to go.its. Been said by many vetted posters that krieder is a main culprit of the country club bullshit. Of course he’s allowed a down year but he has been straight trash while bitching and moaning about a fake injury, if the injury was real he would have sat out the 4 nations. I’m tired of his excuses. I don’t want someone on this team that has actively quit on the team and city.

Enough to of your conjecture bullshit about all this being bs.

I dunno what to tell you man. Generally yeah Kreider has been a great Rangers and up until this year I very much agree with you, but this year has left a bad taste in my mouth about this whole team and especially the "leadership" group of it. It was disgraceful for a team that just went to the ECF to play that way this season and again drives home the reminder to me that they also gave up and shit out a mediocre season with Gallant after going to the ECF.
Kreider is very much a part of that leadership group so...it's all bad vibes.
Ultimately I don't think it's exactly his fault or anything specifically but with how poorly he's played this year and all the extra shit I just also can't muster up any feeling of needing to defend him either
