He does that though, he's very streaky over his career, sometimes hes on fire and other weeks he is on the Milk box. I'm very doubtful he ends the year at .75.
Every player does that except for the very elite.
He’s a first liner.

But we can't trade Zucc because we'll lose money in jersey sales.
Why are you only looking at points/game?
He also averages:
1.9707 Hits/game
0.8313 PIM/game
+0.1345/game
0.1491 FOW/game
0.3545 blocks/game
0.1467 PPP/game
2.1809 shots/game
You need to look at the whole picture.
Which is why fans have to grin and bear it which I'm not sure 80% of the board is willing to do. It's going to get worse before it gets better. And, clearly not you, but why is everyone such a Pionk-hater? "Hot streak? His production last year was good, too. He's had a "hot streak" going all season, I guess. It's weird--everyone is down on Pionk but favorable of DeAngelo, who had a classic hot streak and is back to looking REALLY good ans BEING average at best.
As of the time they both joined the team to now, Pionk is better by a mile... and, YES, numbers ARE everything in 2018, especially for offensive d-men.
On this team which hasnt had much to talk about in point production. Who was the last person we had in top 10 scoring?
‘92 of course. Nemchinov just had 30 goals as a third liner. What year do you think it is?
It's because he's been a huge negative at 5v5. While he is getting tough usage and still hasn't played a full season, up to this point he's performed poorly at even strength. I don't think it has anything to do with draft position or pedigree at all.I've had the Pionk discussion before and I'm not really sure I still have my head around the opposing view. I hear it, and I get parts of it, but it's still puzzling to me.
I've always felt some of it was the pedigree angle. If the roles were reversed, and Pionk was taken 19th overall and part of the Stepan trade, we'd be tripping over ourselves with what he's doing --- warts and all.

They're bashing Kreider in here, where's @Machinehead ?
There's our boy Kevin
5 goals. $6M. Priceless.
New York is underrated as a hockey market. It's pretty lively here when the Rangers are competitive. At least we're first in something:

1st round pick for Kevin Hayes
1st round pick for Mats Zuccarello
TB wins the Cup and the Rangers get the 31st pick in the draft. It's TB's Cup to lose.
Four 1st round picks in June.
The Rangers should trade Chris Kreider at the deadline in February. They can't go through another season where they have a key player on an expiring contract. The draft is kind of slow for trades. This trade deadline is the time.
It doesn't look like the Rangers will re-sign Hayes no matter how much Larry Brooks campaigns for the Rangers to pay Hayes.
The Rangers have had no discussions or very little discussions about re-signing Zuccarello.
Speaking of Hayes

I'd definitely deal one of our D prospects for Parayko. Excellent play driver. Only 25.Saw some stuff on Twitter about NYR interested in Parayko, doubt it happens but any truth to it?
I’d do Skjei+Lundkvist+ to secure Parayko
Would you do Kandre?I'd definitely deal one of our D prospects for Parayko. Excellent play driver. Only 25.
Apparently the source is Eklund and some random nhl rumor Twitter account so I doubt there’s any truth to it but yeah I’d be all over itI'd definitely deal one of our D prospects for Parayko. Excellent play driver. Only 25.
Yep just saw that and was pretty let down, would’ve been thrilled if it were someone credible. Parayko is exactly what we need on the backendEklund rumor and that dumb Nhlrumorsdaily acct is spreading it.
I agree. My original comments about moving one were based on long-term projections where I’d prefer to not build a team of defenders all sub 6 ft ~180 pounds -IIRC, you share similar sentiments.Admitedly, 30 points in your first 54 games as a defenseman will also do that.
Personally, I don't think the Rangers move either of Pionk or ADA on the sooner side of spectrum --- not until they have a better understanding of what they have or don't have.
The only exception I can think of is if there is a prime, young talent to be had and one of them is part of the price.
But I think there's a degree of uncertainty around Shattenkirk, and a bit of a gap until other young defenders are going to be ready.

He would be an amazing add. Would trade pretty much anyone on the roster for him.Yep just saw that and was pretty let down, would’ve been thrilled if it were someone credible. Parayko is exactly what we need on the backend
