Not taking anything away from him as a complete player. He good. Just don't believe he's the guy we should cash a bunch of chips in for.

One sided series or not, your best players show up through it all, no matter what.

I mean, he's not even available so it doesn't even matter, but there were way bigger no shows than Gaudreau last year
 
Larry thinks Devils could get Gaudreau for a signed Hall hahaha.

Never forget that Larry is a Devils homer first and foremost. He can shout it to the rafters of MSG that he used to sit in the blue seats in the 70s but he’s a Devils fan through and through. Will never say a bad thing about them.

This is why we need better beat writers. Our best best writer is a fan of the Devils.

Well I can’t see tonight’s GDT because whoever started it is on my ignore list so I might as well say it here. Georgiev is making it easier to call up Shesty. Does Georgiev need to clear waivers?

But he is right, they could get Gaudreau for a signed Hall.

As an aside, Gorton should be looking for more players like Lemieux who have yet to establish themselves but have upside. Guys like Tkachuk would require 20% ownership of the Rangers to acquire.

I’d be more inclined to seeing the price on Nylander who would help cement the 2nd line moving forward. Then go find another guy or two like Lemieux to augment.

I think they are scouring the wrong California team. I would think about trying to get Lindholm or maybe Fowler out of Anaheim. They recalling need a top pairing caliber LHD to stabilize the defense. Throwing another rookie at it won’t solve the problem.
 
Ville Heinola, who Winnipeg drafted with the pick we traded them for Trouba, is playing in the Liiga this season on the same team as is Reunanen, and also Ilkka Heikkinen (NYR 2009-10).

What's Anaheim's incentive to trade either of them? And what are we giving up for them? Neither will be cheap. They both have sizable cap hits, which would make things really tight next year unless Skjei is going the other way.

After investing in Trouba, I don't see us trading for another expensive dman. The LD situation isn't something that has to get fixed today. Let the kids mature and see where we are in a year or two.

Ive said this before. At last year’s TC tournament I quipped to someone at the top of the rangers food chain: breadman or a devil. And initially he said breadmans not going to the devils, and I said no, breadman or a devil, and he said ahh i dunno, some of the younger Canadien kids really like playing for a Canadien team.

Calgary is Hall’s hometown team.

This could happen.
Although if I’m Calgary and I’ve heard through the Calgary community that hall wants to play for the hometown team, they could always wait till the summer and keep or trade Johnny-hockey for a boatload to add to hall. Maybe the owner doesn’t want to sacrifice the season with growing interest after last year’s division win. But I’d be asking for more than just Hall for Johnny hockey.
