Why would they trade a franchise C? And what would we have to give up? I'd rather have Matthew Tkachuk anyways. Would make us a giant pia to play against. Also I want Nick Ritchie after seeing how he plays.

Lawson Crouse for Kreider I bet will happen. Yotes would be foolish to not try to reunite Kreider and Stepan at the deadline. maybe Kreider and Fast goes to the Yotes??? I would love Tkachuk but I think Rangers don't have much to trade to get him in my opinion

Size was always gonna make his start slow, I honestly felt he should have started in the minors because of his size.

I don’t think CGY has anything to fleece. Gaudreau is still going to cost a lot. Don’t love any of their secondary pieces. Don’t have any centers to move. I’m not seeing it.

Calgary has several players I’d like but it all depends on the price. Rumored they want to move Jankowski to free up some cap $. I like the player and under the circumstances he should be priced cheap. The Rangers could use some experienced help to strengthen the bottom six.

Kakko is coming fast. I didn’t realize the play on the second goal on Wednesday was intended as a pass and it was flat out brilliant. Oh, this is so much fun to watch!

Calgary has several players I’d like but it all depends on the price. Rumored they want to move Jankowski to free up some cap $. I like the player and under the circumstances he should be priced cheap. The Rangers could use some experienced help to strengthen the bottom six.

I think there are a lot of players Calgary moves before Jankowski, who they have under RFA control. Don’t really they they want to move C either.

According to Friedman they have talked to other teams about Jankowski, the problem is that he has 0 points this year and teams want to pay a lower price and Calgary is all like ‘he’s had 30+ goals over the last two seasons, we need more than what you’re offering’

I mean I sure it’s not their prerogative to ask for less. Not sure what NYR could offer though

I said if we're trading for a big fish and overpaying I'd rather have Matthew. I think he only signed a 2 or 3 year contract so we might be able to get him easier or maybe get him as a FA.

We need Mika back in the worst way. We need him to slot players down and add more to this team. More consistency.

Even with how bad this team’s defense has been, I think we have at least 2 more wins with Mika in the lineup. And just 2 more wins makes all the difference in the standings since they have games in hand on teams.

Also think Mika should center the 2nd PP unit. That unit has Chytil and Buch/Strome on it. There is a bit of panic for them on the ice. They need a guy who wont panic with the puck and will open up the play

I would be calling about Gaudreau and Tkachuk. We have assets. If it gets too unrealistic then pass. But this is what you do with all the assets you have accumulated. Not all can make the NHL even if all deserve it. Capitalize on another team that is in distress or panicking. Take advantage of them.

Tkachuk couldn’t possibly be available, could he? I’m not a huge Gaudreau fan fwiw. I’m just not seeing a good match with Calgary. Not with Calgary in the Seller role, at least. Might be a match if Calgary is buying, though.

And that's completely unrealistic because he's untouchable to the Flames. Might as well have said McDavid.

I agree he should be split from Panarin on the pp mostly because they both like the same area of the ice. I also think Panarin Strome and Kakko should be our 2nd line behind kreider Zibanajad and buch. Both those lines have chemistry and Zib kreider and buch can handle the tough matchups atleast at home anyway, leaving the Panarin line some space on the ice. The only issue then is that Chytil gets dumped to the 3rd line.

After looking over Calgary's roster and looking at some of the players people are talking about I think there's a few players both teams would be interested in.

Thachuk isn't going anywhere that's a fantasy. Him and Johnny hockey are the faces of that team.

Calgary also is right up against the cap with only 150K of space so the salaries need to be very close or they sell more then they bring in. So I came up with 2 offers based on some of the posters posts.

Calgary trades:

Bennett 2.5
Jankowski 1.7
Kylington .7

Total 6.4

Rangers trade:

Kreider 4.6 we know Calgary has asked about him.
Fast 1.8

Total 6.4

6.4 for out 6.4 for in. We get a good center ( I know some people don't care for him--but I think it's the Edmonton effect he just needs to get out of Calgary ).

Trade 2 this is if Calgary gets even more desperate:

Monahan 6.4/ Jankowski 1.7/ Kylington or Dude 8.8 out

Kreider 4.6/ Fast 1.8/ Huska .9/ one of the young D-man not named Miller. More like Rykov, Rauanen, Keane group.

Same needs for both teams---Kreider replaces Monahan ( we get the center this team needs ), Fast replaces Jankowski, Calgary needs a goalie for the future, one of the Dman to sweetened to deal.

Crazy thought on a Saturday morning or go back for more coffee. Just some random thought after reading though the last few days--I know this most likely won't happen but hey that's why we post.
