Vinni torched the AHL since being sent down.

Deserved call up. Do something with it now that McLord isn't opposite on the line.
McLeod had nothing to do with Lettieri being completely invisible.

This is his chance to show whether or not he can play in the NHL or if he is nothing but a 4A player. This is probably his last chance. At least with the Rangers.

Ironically your name is Heckler, I love it.

C'mon you know that's how the stereotypical Rangers fan talks. As I said again, my humor isn't for everybody but I will never stop trying. The main boards for as vile and nasty as they can be have some really funny stuff.

Also as your post above says, what am I trying to harden? Maybe the word too.

I looked up who Francesa was. I thought it was a woman with that name, but man. He's the most obnoxious guy covering sports in NY and that's saying something.

So Carolina sent Darling to the AHL after clearing waivers. They already have Nedeljkovic and Booth there, both of whom are too good for the ECHL. Curious to see what happens there.

He's pretty much Public Enemy No 1 (or Numba Won as his detractors like to mock him with) for hockey fans. He's arrogant/pompous/smug and just rude and he gets triggered very easily. His NFL coverage is brilliant and he's very good with MLB as well.

Main stream guys who cover hockey and are great in the NY Market; Steve Sommers aka The Schmoozer who has been talking about the Rangers since the Michel Bergeron days, and of course Don LaGreca.

I don't think this is his last chance. It's his second year pro. He scores in the AHL. There's still potential there, possibly. They're definitely going to qualify him in the offseason, unless he asks out.

That being said, I'd have preferred Meskanen get the call-up.

The "Fake Italian" type is probably the type of New Yorker I despise the most haha

Yes, but he has not scored here. He has been given extensive looks. He has been utterly invisible. When being given opportunities, it is up to him to make a statement, get involved and make himself visible. This will be his third attempt. If he is invisible again, I think that's it.

What has he shown that would prompt them to qualify him?

I heard on SXM NHL Radio that the Blue Jackets might be interested in adding a Center come deadline (who wouldn't). I feel like Hayes and Torts would work well- plays a solid two way game for his liking. Do they have the cap space/need for a Hayes? Could we make good trading partners?

They've certainly got the cap space (I'm unsure about any internal budgets they may have), and with Panarin likely coming off the books they could look to extend Hayes.

If CBJ are looking to make a big playoff push I'd be interested to see ithere's some sort of handshake deal where we trade them Hayes for a reasonable return, and then post playoffs we trade a lesser pick for Panarin's rights

So jealous!

I probably missed 31’s typical sarcasm but if I put myself in place of Edmonton’s hockey fan, I shudder and cry and can’t get excited about any movements initiated by their management because I can’t trust them not to ruin it.

Yes, it was definitely there.

Lettieri is getting into PA Parenteau territory here. What's it going to take to get his offense to translate? This NYR team relies less on skating than under AV, so in theory it should be less of a problem for him.

If he's anything like PA, signing with a rival.

Newbury is probably more alike than Parenteau.

If the Rangers have a chance at Karlsson or Panarin next summer, who (if either) would you go after?

It depends if Karlsson's play picks up, he is pretty much a generational talent so it's hard to go against him.
Would also be crazy to have Panarin, Kravtsov, Buchnevich & Shestyorkin on the same team though

100% Panarin. Karlsson’s season is extremely worrying imo.
31 thoughts podcast briefly mentioned the word on Karlsson is go wide. He's getting beat to the outside with frequency.

He is going to try for a statement contract. Validate all of his trials, tribulations, and most importantly his decisions over the past 2 years. I do not want to be the team holding that contract in a few years.

I'd bet whoever signs him is going to be paying him for past work for at least half the contract if not all of it.

Panarin. He's a little bit younger, consistently healthy, and Karlsson's injury scares me considering how much of his game is predicated on his speed. That being said, for all the talk of him being a total disappointment so far as a Shark, he's still been pretty damn good this year...just not producing at his typical level. He'll pick it up some, but I wouldn't be surprised if his days of 70+ points are over.

NHL is so annoying with their deadlines. A before December 1 deadline isn’t a before December 1 deadline, it’s before 5pm on December 1. It’s the same with that 15/16 August crap deadline, it long after you think it will be.
