The point is, the high pick we got in the Nash deal wasn’t inflated (at least not substantially) by taking on Beleskey at 50%, nor was it by taking on Spooner, a pending RFA with good ability who can be flipped or just not QOd to get a compensatory pick. Certainly it wasn’t inflated by us taking on Lindgren. They just got suckered royally. Spooner would get us more than Grabner got us, but even what Grabner got us could be flipped for a low 1st. Low first for Spooner is not out of question, but IMO he’s worth more.
Beleskey has two more seasons on his current contract. But in his one game with us this season, he seemed pretty hungry. Also put up good numbers with Hartford.
Howden and Spooner for Domi
Silverfish could be right on Domi. I think the coach is telling Chyaka, listen things went sour here with Domi. We need to get things right in the locker room. Deal Domi. Tie is telling Max, listen son, you gave it your all but I can tell that you aren’t happy, don’t be afraid of failing on your first try, let me talk to your agent. Chyaka goes, wait let me think it through and disregards chemistry and atmosphere and due process for other factors. It was like that in EDM all those years too, we can’t deal X now because his value is at an all time low. They kept guys in a horrible environment. They ended up dealing Yaks and Eberle for like a borderline 4h lineer...
I think there's a debate. I wouldn't mind him being around with his style of play. I think he plays tough and battles. Not too many easy minutes for the other team when he is on the ice. So I would like him around while a new culture is built up.
This is just an obscure cut off.
