players thinking they know better than the gm and the coaches has been a big part of the problem all along. Upset when Goodrow was moved. Shocked that the team would even think of moving Trouba. It's not very far from there to a player who says 'It's not fair. I should be in the lineup, not him'.
Amazing how that’s the takeaway and not “wow maybe somethings up if all these young players don’t want to be here”. I mean this stuff was happening years before they ever moved Trouba or Goodrow.

Would be really interesting if the rangers tried to go get Taylor hall. He was noticeably great at the winter classic every shift on an absolute dumpster fire of a team. Wouldn’t cost too much on the final year of his contract.

If the season didn’t magically turn around it would all but guarantee the #1 OA pick

We all want Pettersson until it costs Chytil, Perreault, Schneider/Laf, unprotected 1st. Because that’s the kind of package Vancouver will want.

The way to long term success isn’t adding a super expensive but good player. It’s getting rid of the bad players, especially the expensive ones. Especially with the Igor contract handcuffing our ability to spend on decent players on the margins.

People have memory holed a lot of lore from this team. Panarin and Strome refusing to play with Kakko or any of the kids. Mika and Kreider refusing to play apart and needing a revolving door of journeyman instead of just making it work with a young guy. Drury and Gallant clashed in the playoffs over playing the youth more. Gallant sure looks vindicated after pointing the fiinger at our core veterans. Laviolette are as boring and boilerplate a GM/coach as you will find in the league but our delusional fans think Caligula is running the team.

Chicago GM went in to the locker room post Winter Classic meltdown and ripped the team a new asshole according to Chiclets. Bedard came out and apologized to the fans for the embarrassment. What did our guys do when pressure from up top came down on them? Folded. Again. Like always. Egos in the room not allowing the right guys to play. Lavi clearly to weak to overcome it. Drury has not been great on trades but I have really no problem with how he's handled anything since the season started.

which was also true….

What are we doing here? Lol

Im saying in 2 years we'll probably have buyer's remorse. Like Mika. It's just funny to me that everyone wants yet another malcontent thinking it will all work out great in a room with no leadership like we have. If his name was Eli Peters and he was Canadian everyone would hate him. Trading for him would be as much as disaster as fans think trading for JT Miller would be.

there is so much that could go so much worse than an acquisition of Elias Pettersson, we should all f***ing celebrate if that happens.

I get that he has red flags but he's also a 26 year old center with 100 point potential.

Especially if it means Mika goes the other way.

If Mika goes the other way... then sign me up. My faith with this organization after being a fan for 30 years, is at an all time low.

Rather than trading Mika, which is the smart thing, I could see us trading Trocheck + Perrault + our next 78 first round picks. I'm not sure that would even work cap wise but you get my point.

Pettersson would be the best center this team has had in decades. They would be fortunate to get him.

The cost would be prohibitive however, they’re not just giving him away

Drury isn’t winning that trade
This is also my concern. The cost would be absurd. Given how Drury has done with trades...

I have no issue with Zac Jones's comments to the media and full understand why he's frustrated.

I also don't think Jones is very good and that he probably is correctly in the 7th spot on the depth chart. He was playing like complete ass prior to coming out of the lineup and he's never really truly seized his opportunity. Outside of a decent stretch last season, he's been 1 step forward 2 steps back for basically his whole career and it's not all on the organization.

So Zac a goner soon most likely
Maybe, maybe not, but I would think he wants out at this rate.

Going to need to find an underappreciated asset on another team. Wonder if the Jets would trade someone like Kupari for Jones. They basically use him as a 4th line winger at most. Their defensive depth isn't great and he'd be different from the other LHD they do have.
