Look at Washington since they got rid of this clown and brought in a coach with half a brain

They sucked last year too. Not to different from the situation here, Lavi wasn't the only problem.

But look what they GM did. He actually went out and made moves to try to get better. He didn't triple down on Ryan f***ing Lindgren.

fact that there is not so much time for Garand to be waiver exempt adds to rationale to deal Shesty now and get Garand broken in w/Quick asap
-- remember, trading Garand before he has demonstrated his ability in actual NHL games would be HUGE selling short

Igor is a vez quality top of top level guy
he will certainly command max price

I don't think Jones is particularly good but I respect his frustration. Don't need to request a trade when going to the media like this is basically the same thing. Can't imagine much of a market for him though.

I think we should be able to get a 3rd (or equivalent) back

Feelin' good on a Wednesday
forget Lindgren, we traded a 23 year old winger for someone far worse than Jones who was inserted into the lineup and is apparently permanent despite him sucking worse than every defenseman we've dressed this whole season.
But Kakko never produced... blah blah blah

He's not worth his next contract... blah blah blah

Zac jones mouthing off to the media about ice time. Unserious organization.

And what I mean by that is an AHL level defenseman feels comfortable calling out this coaching staff, knowing it will lead to a trade. Inmates are running the asylum. I’m embarrassed as a fan of this team. Unbecoming of an O6 franchise.
Inmates aren’t running shit haha. Their careers are wasting away and they’re desperately trying to get tf out

I'd be really surprised to get back our initial investment in him. D+5 guys with little progress and nothing outstanding in their game really don't pull that sort of returns but crazier things have happened. There are lots of smaller, puck moving defensemen who are unremarkable and are thus unable to really make noise in the NHL.

He's not a particularly special player at this point in his career but he's also not really getting a fair shake. But Drury has made it pretty clear he's not all that interested in the kids he didn't draft.

My defense after I trade Lindgren and Borgen yesterday.

No I'm not kidding with Robertson. Perfect time to see what you got. Sometimes a guy just needs a shot. Call up Othmann too.

I call up Mancini after the TDL.

It’s comical, this team is in free fall, they aren’t winning this season, and they are probably going to trade off more pieces weakening the team even further. Wouldn’t this be the perfect situation to give a guy like Jones a full season of games? I get the coach still has an obligation to win games and I can’t fault him for playing who he thinks is best, but where is the GM? Where is the front office? This team is so Pejorative Slured man.

Even with Fox, we have the worst D-core/team D in the league. 30th defending off the rush, 32nd in allowing odd-man rushes, and 31st for shots allowed against.

But please tell me how Igor should steal games more fans you know who I'm talking about.
Now imagine the AHL level garbage it would be without Fox. Igor needs to provide above average goaltending, not steal games per se. Lately he's been less then average with the exception of a couple starts.

It's the 'chicken and egg argument', and at this point I don't think anyone is changing sides; and you are absolutely correct in that what is played in front of Igor is absolute trash and not good enough. But by the same token, if you are about to be the highest paid goalie you are expected to do more with less, and outside of one insane season Igor simply has not done that.

Igor is a good goalie. The Rangers need to be better in front of Igor. Igor's new contract will make it harder to put good players in front of him. If the goalie ends up relying on good players in front of him to be his best, you have to question just how much cap % they should get.

We've made our bed with Igor at this point, but I can understand why fans will keep looking at that cap hit and sighing for a while.
The people who say you should never pay a goalie and it prevents from building a team around them typically conveniently ignore the fact that 3 of the last 5 cups were won by the two teams with the highest paid goalies in the league. Igors contract is no issue, the issue is the composition of a baby shit soft core

Not garnering max price with the way he's played lately and making 3-4 mil more then tenders that have been better then him this year. How many teams can even afford to take on 11.5?

Problem is Igor makes SIGNIFICANTLY more then those cup winning goalies.

Zac Jones is now on the clock. Two teams that circled him last year (that I could confirm) were Utah (Arizona) and St. Louis. If Drury has seen enough, he will have a market to move him. I would imagine the price is a second or a young player.
If they get that kind of return I'd be okay with it. But Drury gonna Drury.

I don’t know why we’re investing time talking about JT Miller. He can’t come here unless Mika goes and Mika’s not going anywhere
Because certain people on this forum love living in fantasy land making up things like "Zibs will waive to X city because they have Swedish players or a hot music scene." Dude got his buyout proof contract, got married and had a kid. He's comfortable, he isn't going anywhere.

Jones being this direct in public makes me think a trade is already in the works. Similar to Kakko finally opening up right before he was dealt.

If so he will be another in a long line of mistakes this org has made. There are easily 3 dmen he should be playing ahead of. NYR have zero clue how to evaluate defensemen.
I duno I don't think Jones is great but I do think it's obvious the organization has been jerking him around for the past several years. Drury doesn't want to trade him or let him go via wavers but is happy to f*** with him as a scratch and not get him playing time. I'm surprised that it's taken him this long to basically come out with it.
