If they get a young C back for him and Mika doesn't want to waive yet, move Mika to the wing. Trocheck/Chytil/young C received in Miller trade should be the three centers. If Mika doesn't want to waive, he can move his ass to the wing.

You're nicer than me. I was going to suggest leaving Mika in the press box indefinitely if we got another center.

People are losing their minds.

We are not trading Fox.

We are not retaining 50% of Zibanejad, Miller, Othmann, and Perreault for Pettersson. Worst proposal I've ever seen on the Rangers board. Is Pettersson a 26 year old Gretzky? No. Pettersson is a great player when he is playing well. You don't see that player too often these past 2 years. Like Mika, he's soft mentally. He also has a tendency to disappear in the playoffs and has struggled with a knee injury. All of these red flags make that $11.6 million AAV contract a huge risk. Aside from all of that, it doesn't even work with the salary cap so why even bring it up.

The coach needs to start rewarding the players who work hard. I'm tired of the ice times and I don't care about the excuse of special teams. If Fil is having a game like he did last night, he should be rewarded, PP1, PK, extra shifts at ES. The fact that he ended up with 14 mins while Kreider pushed 20 & Mika had 16+ is ridiculous.

Same goes for Berard. Sub 10 mins is despicable.

Edstrom at 7 mins and change is pathetic.

These are 3 of the hardest working guys night in night out. Edstrom is far more visible than Kreider on a game by game basis, yet he's playing 30% of his minutes.

Path forward will be rocky, and *should* be lacking playoff appearances for a few years: this year and most definitely next. Possibly 3 years depending on what happens but so many young teams are just so much better.

The team has to unload Kreider, Mika, Lindgren, Miller. If it takes trading away someone we would want to keep like a Perrault or whatever thats fine, he isn't going to be that great anyway.

The rest of this year should have Tro, Laf and Bread as the first line, Chytil Cuylle and Berard as line 2, then who the hell cares on lines 3 and 4. Whatever scraps they can get from the guys they trade.

Sadly, none of this is going to actually happen. What an absolute disaster period awaiting us all.

Out of every player on the roster, the only one I could see really missing Trouba is Miller. He was stapled to his side from day 1. Always talks about what he meant to him coming into the league.

He still needs to be better, but I can at least understand it

Edstrom should unironically be our 1C

Phone at 93% and I'm f***ing angry

Pretty much done with Miller too. He can't seem to avoid making 1 or 2 glaring mistakes a game. He's like Shesterkin. Tired of seeing this guy get soundly beat wide once a game.

They're not playing like a team. They're playing like individuals on a team. In the goalie's case it helps to know that your team is playing like a team. They're not together as a team on the ice and they're probably not all that together off the ice either. Whatever leadership was there before is not there now and nobody has stepped up to take that on and no one is being held accountable when they f*** up. There's resentment towards a hapless at least somewhat non-communacative GM and there's a bit of self pity being passed around too.

A game or two or three in a row where they let the animal out--and just f*** everything and several fights per game maybe a suspension or two. Likely we're not going to win those games anyway but at least the team members start rowing in the same direction. Bad form for sure (who really gives a shit though?) and also we don't have the personalities for that. But really you wonder if one of the players is ever going to really get angry or we're just going to have to see the season peter out without even a squeak. We have no Alpha personalities.

Miller was looking like he was coming into his own with very high-end potential under Gallant. I truly believe the system Lavi employs has totally f***ed him. No one really to blame, but the guy fell off a cliff at an age when regression doesn't happen unless there's an injury.

Have you seen the rest of the league? If the Rangers replace Miller and Lindgren with competent defenseman they'll probably make the playoffs this year. Its not ideal for the long term plan but the eastern conference is garbage. I dont really buy this idea that we're in for half a decade of pain.

Looking at the 16 teams in potential playoffs spots as of the now. 8 of them don't have a 1st round pick in 2025 Draft. How does that change the landscape of the market at the trade deadline? Knights, Panthers, Devils, Wild, Oilers, Leafs, Lightning, Avs, all moved their 2025 1st rounder already. There's 6 clubs with multiple 1st round picks for the draft. All of them are currently not in playoff picture. If the Rangers intend on moving out players with Term left, Zibanejad, Kredier, the clubs taking them on have i tihnk would likely be the ones with multiple picks. So would these players waive for non-playoffs clubs? Would they waive for Canada? Even toss K Andre in there as well becuase of impending RFA status. If not, might be looking at the hockey trade and not a recoup of assets.

Teams with Multiple 1st rounders in 2024 based on current standings
Flyers 3 #11, #19 (COL) #24 (EDM)
Preds 3 #3, #22 (TBL), 32 (VGS)
Habs 2. #10, #16 (CGY)
Hawks 2 #1, #23 (TOR)
Jackets 2 #12, #26 (MIN)
