I’m all in. Schneider, Miller, 1st rounder next year. Centers like him don’t show up on trade list very often.
People say the same thing every time a player is available, and there are always other players available. We don't have to throw everything at the most expensive player the minute we get some money in our pockets.

This doesn't address the Mika problem, and it leaves us with exactly 1 dman (Fox). How are we filling out the rest of the roster?

They do, but I've seen Carolina make some absurdly stupid player personnel decisions. Necas bet on himself and he's going to get paid. Good for him. I'm just not sure Carolina is the team that's going to do it.

You have a point. I forgot about Nikishin completely.
Waddell is gone thankfully

Not advocating for moving him but if Igor has the starting job for the next 8 years it's probably the right move. Especially if moving him allows us to move one of Zibby/Lindgren/Miller/Kreider.

I don’t like the idea of adding to this group and that’s what trading him would be doing.

I understand that he’s going to have to be moved at some point, but now seems like a bad time to do it. It just screams dumb panic add.

Theoretically. Not sure why any team would want both, considering how it's played out in NY though.

Well it’s a bad stretch but not like they can’t turn it around in a new environment

Phoenix / Utah is a good place to bounce back . Less media . Team could use a jolt to finally make the playoffs

There are only 3 teams that realistically would trade for Igor and 1 is likely not even an option. Carolina. The other 2 i see are Utah and LA. We aren't trading him. But dammit if I don't want Iginla from Utah. Haha

Utah has the cap space, and Armstrong has built up a nice little Russian nucleus. Ryan Smith wants to make an impact as an owner and grow hockey as a big market in the area. Send Igor to Utah for either of Ingram or Vejmelka plus whatever other residual pieces fill out the deal.

They’re right outside of a playoff spot, Sergachev has been a homerun trade for them, and they have a lot of talent coming up along the way.

Drury should take notes on how Tourigny let Cooley come along while still “earning it.” Never got jerked around the lineup. The coach told him what he needs to work on and they went through it together. Crazy concept.

Igor isn't getting traded unless he himself says "f*** it, I'm out."

Literally every other player in the organization has a better chance of being moved. They should have sat on his extension a bit longer and decided what to do with him a bit later than they did but now that he's inked he isn't going to be traded.

There are a lot of teams that would trade for him considering we were told many teams would like to offer him 13M+ if he became a UFA and now he is signed for cheaper than that.

Yes. Trade him. The guy is useless without the puck. Trade the guys with value. Stop the bleeding before things get worse. Everyone is fixated on the guy who suck.
I'm curious as to how you feel about Panarin. In terms of moving heavy furniture, he's a guy I look to move way before Fox. Panarin with retention to a team that gets two playoff runs out of him is worth a ton.

Meeka and Cryder reuniting in Montreal as a package deal for Gallagher and Anderson.
again wrong
horrible return
Kreider has positive value
Zib does not
also MON does not want

I find it a waste of time to argue about Chris Kreider with those who clearly hate him. Why bother?
b'c alternative is to surrender the false narrative and when that gets repeated enuf, unchallenged, creates the impression it is consensus/truth

join team bern
speak the truth
tell it like it is...

Another typically wrong conclusion
Selling low on Garand in advance of him establishing his value is beyond stupid.

Selling high on Shesty -- esp if return is max -- would = very smart

whether or not this is true
it is still not the smartest move

Folks,

Don’t post any rumors unless it’s from a legit source, and if you do, please make sure there is a link.

It’s a very emotional time now for this team where changes could happen any moment….or not. But we are not going to start making stuff up or using false rumors to fuel discussions

Thank you.

Find a 3rd team to double retain, get Ovie on board and talk to the Caps about Leonard. Throw in Lindy for depth/brothership, and literally anything else from the bargain bin or conditional picks.

Be that much worse without Panarin and be legit bad enough to get within spitting distance of Hagens.

Go big game hunting this summer with the extra money and bring in Rantenen or Eichel (or both if you can ditch Mika and some of the other movables).
