Is kreider on RW out of the question?

With such a limited toolbox to begin with, I'd like to see if he could LH snipe Top shelf/hip blocker right coming off the circle/wall as an addition to his know equity of Rush-in and Net-front plays.

I said it in another thread, but, Kreider did play RW with Mika and Panarin. You could also put him next to Chytil, and move Laf next Mika. Given the cap situation, taking advantage of so many young players on ELCs would be the wise choice. Having Kravtsov win a spot, allowing Gorton to move Buch to upgrade LD would also help.

Since we landed Laf, and the uncertainty of the AHL, I get rid of a few pieces now. Hajek, Kravtsov, Georgie, Car 1st. one of the big D guys, we need a center.

Ok fresh off the high of the lottery win. Moves need to be made for another top 6 center. Glut of talent on the wing. Who to target? Keller off a bad season? Any other names stand out as trade targets?

Well, the other side of the coin is maybe you don't need a huge investment in center. Strome and Panarin have chemistry. They just got a cost controlled top 9 wing. They have two other options at RW with Kakko and Kravtsov, both on ELC. Chytil isn't exactly being misused on the 3rd line with the possibility of Lafreniere, Kakko, Fast, Kravtsov, and Lemieux as flanks.

I'd pump the brakes and see what the contracts on Strome and ADA come in at. See how the players shape up. Maybe Chytil takes a big step with decent wings. See who retires.

Who do we think is realistically the best player that the Rangers can get for a deal headlined by the Carolina 1st.

If we don't think we can fit Buch, who is possibly getting better, I do a 1st a and Buch for a center if possible. That also opens the door for Kravtsov to get a chance.

Kinda wish we hadn’t given Kreider 7M now. Gonna be an expensive third liner in a year. On the flip side, we currently have exceptional depth on the wings. Hopefully Miller develops into a legitimate top four defenseman at minimum. We need a C.

Whether that means packaging Kravstov, Strome/Chytil, DeAngelo/Lundkvist and our other 1st, we have world class winger and RHD depth now and center depth that just doesn’t match.

Something like Strome, Kravstov/Lundkvist + 1st or DeAngelo + Chytil/Kravstov + 1st for a legitimate 2C.

I really like Gauthier in that top 9, he brings that N/S element with some real skill. Unless Kravstov is involved in a deal I think you use this opportunity to see how Kravstov is at center in Hartford. He's only turning 21 next season, he's still just a kid and theres a whole lot of competition now.

Rangers have an insane amount of talent of the wings. Instead of trading one of those talents they should build around them. Focus on 2 way Defensively responsible centers.

That way the centers can help the wingers be as offensive as they need to be.

I don’t think this prompts some kind of house cleaning or change in direction.

Kreider will still be back. Buch is still a trade chip for the right price, but that price will not be a draft pick. Kravtsov is only leaving if it’s a BIG time trade. Andersson is still overseas and either a component of a deal, or a long term project.

This isn’t the end scene in The Godfather where we go out and settle family business.

I’m hopeful Gorton continues to value draft capital moving forward. As time moves on cheap young ELC talent is going to be paramount to this team competing and staying under the cap.
