A few names I'd be wondering about, with varying costs:

Christian Dvorak - Arizona
Ryan Nugent Hopkins - Edmonton
Colin White - Ottawa

Dvorak, to me is kind of an ideal player to go get. Defensively, he is already above average and he's 24, signed long term and could fit in well as a compliment to a Chytil as 2/3C's moving forward. Chytil probably leaning more towards offense while Dvorak anchors a more defensive line that can provide offense.

I’m surprised about the talk around trading ADA. He had an absolute monster of a breakout season. 24 yr old near 60 pt dman. Sure, there are warts defensively but he plays with an edge.

I think its more about the fact that they have a lot of talent on the right side in the pipeline and the belief that Dangelo is going to ask for a big deal. If they can deal from a position of strength (RD) for a position of need (C), its a win. Plus if you figure Dangelo is getting at least 5-6 mil in a 1 year deal, he's a good piece to offset the salary of what's coming back. Rangers certainly don't have to move him, and probably won't. But he's young, has a lot a value, plays a position of strength for the Rangers, and is going to be getting a significant raise. Rangers would be foolish to not at least see whats out there.

@KreiderBomb has made it his lifes mission to will his trade from the Rangers into the universe.

Then there are the knee jerk reactions from people based off of 3 games where he played on one leg and then those who don't like him for other reasons.

I like him so the agenda is on your side, but people talk like he is the 2nd coming of Leetch, he's not, he's not even Zubov, he might not even be Yandle. He's an above average offensive dman, but a below average defender you can't count on in your own end. Anyone ignoring that isn't realistic about what he really is. His limitations don't account for him trying multiple times a game to feed a pass up the middle from behind the goal line, those are great when they connect but they rarely do and you give up possession. He likes the high risk plays, it doesn't work in playoffs. Limitations or not, those plays can't happen. It blows my mind how people dumped on Pionk for his defensive play but refuse to do it for DeAngelo when in reality Pionk is miles ahead in that department.

Dvorak is not available.

This right here. Its painfully obvious we are a black hole on the left side defensively, we are thin up front and if you could you'd like to upgrade the 2c. All of these things trump the need to have a guy on your third pair d making 5+ million especially when you have Lindqvist in waiting next year.

When one of Brodeur's Enterprise car rentals commercials comes on I change the channel...he is just an arrogant ass I figure ....bragging about his trophies . It stings for sure ...not that he was not a great goalie , but I just don't like him .
I too am very passionate about commercials

Go look at the TOI comparison between the Rangers and the Hurricanes. We want to know why the team looked gassed? Mika was playing on average 5 minutes more per game than Aho and the team was chasing the puck as they rarely had possession. This can be overcome when the team is in mid season form but when these guys are still trying to get in game shape it’s not going to work. This is when depth has to come in and Quinn refused to use his probably because the lower lines weren’t generating enough.

Mika played 23:07/game in the playoffs. He played 23:35/game in March when he scored 11 goals in 6 games. They were also consistently playing behind so of course he would get more minutes.

There's a HUGE difference between playing 23 minutes a game when you are in game shape and 23 minutes a game on back to backs in the 3rd game of a new season (which is pretty much what this was). Again, Aho was playing 18 minutes a night in this series.

Watching every other team with the exception of the Bruins we were clearly the worst conditioned team coming back for this tournament and that needs to be addressed

I agree, it's like the players sat at home and did nothing, nobody outside of Kakko and Buch had any life in their legs.

Fingers crossed for Lafrenierre of course. That will be good for the game. MTL is the ideal place since Alexis would immediately drive up HRR in that market, but if they upset the Pens... well the other great market for him would be in NY.

Rangers would end up having 5-6 guys where they can sell Jerseys.

Hardly seems to be an issue for some other players. Kyle Connor is at 23:47. Auston Matthews 23:22. Patrick Kane 22:22. Leon Draisaitl 22:21. Mitch Marner 22:03. Some other guys on Pittsburgh are up there but they had an OT game.

eh, I don;'t think it was totally an exhuastion issue. Mika usually takes a bit to get his engines going at full blast. He never had his precision down in the four games. This is not an ideal situation for players who take a bit to find their touch and timing. It happens.

I think that's the idea... if you have a Cason, Boyle, Buns-level D, trading should be the last option, s it won't be at the draft (slim and no chance). I think it's going to the end of arbitration (undoubtedly will favor DeAngelo) when they can absolutely kill on a trade.

Not to make excuses, but I do wonder if NYC being one of the worst hit areas in the world for COVID had an affect on that front. I know many / most (?) players got out of NYC and I 100% support players privacy in this case in terms of not knowing how people handled things but I can’t help but wonder.
