Stepan is a 3C making more than any F we have not named Panarin. He never lived up to 1C expectations, and hasn't put up 2C numbers for a couple seasons now. Fast put up more points than Stepan this season, and if we hadn't traded him when we did, his NTC wouldn't expire until after next season. We'd waste a protection slot on him in the Seattle draft.

We absolutely made the right move there, even if Andersson never plays another NHL game.

One of the big reasons Ottawa may consider this is that they need to sell tickets. Ottawa is just across the river from Quebec. Lafreniere is one of the biggest names to come out of that area in many years.

I think this is very realistic. Definitely not hyperbolic shit like “Kakko Fox Lundkvist and a 1st”. I think it’d be similar for Barkov.

Only conditions based on players signing with the team. Conditions based on performance as still allowed

Pretty sure they removed the ability for picks to be upgraded based on a player re-signing; not based on how well a team does.

People always overestimate the return top players get when they are traded. People the Lindros trade was almost 30 years ago.

ADA alone would be a starting point that not a lot of teams could match. Add in a top prospect that not every team has like Kravtsov/Miller plus the fact that the NYR have 2 first round picks and I think the NYR can go get Eichel if they want him.

That said I don’t think Eichel is the right move at all.
