He should just stick to being negative about every prospect and then claim to be right 90% of the time

So who would do Zibanejad, Howden, Pionk and 20 for Laine and Trouba?
Wouldn't trade anything of top value for him. Let's see how the defense pans out couse right now it's a mess, too many bodies. He will surely see his options next July.

1. It's way higher than 90%.

2. Better to be right almost every time than wrong 90% because you can't figure out that that doing well in Allsvenskan means nothing about NHL readiness despite traveling all over Europe, or reading scouting reports where every last player who won't even get drafted next month sounds like Jagr.

3. Hajek was trashed all season until I rehabbed his rep, and was quickly proven right when he was great in his callup. Marchessault, Talbot, bunch of others I had a more positive view of than the consensus that didn't view them as prospects when I first began pimping them. Even my view of the future of Chytil and Pionk now is rosier than most people's. Obviously my view of 90% of prospects was more negative than most because they exaggerate them to no end. Every garbage prospect (e.g., Day, Tarmo) gets his couple of months (or years) of crazy pimping.

But ok, fine, I know nothing. Have fun here.

You clearly don't realize that for most people it is not about being right. That's the first problem here. With your logic, we should never even discuss prospects because "it doesn't mean anything until they reach the NHL". Boy, that sounds like so much fun.

And yes, I travel around Europe. I don't see why that's relevant to this debate but I like to see hockey games in different countries when I travel. It's called a hobby. I never claim to be an expert. But just like others, I have opinions. Sometimes I am right, sometimes I am wrong. But at least I enjoy talking about it much more this way, instead of following your approach.

To each their own though.

so when people think that guys like day & tarmo have potential it is crazy pimping...but when people write them off and claim they have no future you are the first person to jump in and say that players take time to develop and give off examples of guys that made it at a later age like zuke and that people need to be more patient

its easy to claim to be write all the time when you play both sides of the fence

I wanna know how many people were “trashing” Hajek this year that Beacon had to put in so much work to rebuild the kids rep. Who? Like 3 people? Talk about an exaggeration.

Its pretty sad that it is more important to be right 90% of the time about a prospect flaming out, or a prospect in general, on a message board.

bigger question is how many people actually cared and changed their opinion's about his rehabbing his reputation vs people feel better when seeing him with their own eyes but he takes credit for it

Do you watch the Jets?

Trouba has been a good NHL defenseman literally from his first game in the league. He played his offside for a couple of year so the Jets could load their top four. More recently, he’s clearly become the number one defenseman on what is a pretty good team.

He plays defense extremely well...something that has been in short supply around here for a number of years.

He’s been on the Rangers radar for several years and anyone who follows my posts here knows I’ve been beating the drums for him whenever it appears he might be available.

Because I live in the west, I get to see him play 10-15 times a year. McDonagh 2014-15 was excellent but he never again played to that level. By comparison, Trouba is getting better as he ages.

If you think he’s a number three defenseman...well, you are entitled to your opinion but I doubt you would find much company in the hockey community.

I do watch the Jets. He was very good this year individually, their team wasn't great. Last year he was a force. His offense only this year has been enough to be a first pair. We'll see where it goes from there.

This site is getting nastier then usual lately. Need the draft to get here and free agency to start!
Oh it will get worse when free agency starts if the Rangers add Panarin.

The doom and gloom crowd will be out in full effect because it will reduce our chance at a LOTTERY pick.

Or if they don't.

Seriously short of landing some sweetheart ass deal that no one sees coming, the summer post draft is going to be a shit show.

Eh as Ive said I wont be upset if they dont land Panarin. I will understand it.

I do think they should move out some bodies and bring in a vet forward and D.

This should really be a stay the course summer. For us, that is moving out aging players that we can and getting more assets. Get some depth players on short term if we move out some if our current depth pieces.

Would like to see what we could nab for Clarkson or Horton's contracts, especially before the draft. Could be the ammo we need for that 2nd top 10 pick. Callahan too, but he can still play. Flip him at 50% at the deadline. Get another pick. More ammo, hopefully on top of 2 1sts next draft.

I'd be fully on board with making bigger moves 1 year from now. We'll know so much more about our centers, defense, and who is ready to become our next goalie.
