I just think Newhook has displayed more raw skill and has more power to his game than Zegras. I also think Zegras ends up on the wing.
Seider has shown he has the size, IQ, and skill to become an all-around top pairing D. The biggest risk with him is that we haven’t had an opportunity to evaluate him against peers in standard development leagues. The attributes are all there for him to become a stud.
Honestly, the third tier of Newhook, Seider, Podkolzin, and Zegras is tight for me and I totally understand having them in any order.
The more I’ve watched Cozens, the more I see all the tools without a stable toolshed. His hockey IQ and creativity aren’t up there with some of the top prospects in this draft. He’s more a north/south player than east/west. The top players in this draft have both. His speed, his shoot first mentality, and his consistency are all major pluses. I just don’t have the same confidence he has a playing style that will allow him to dominate at the next level. He reminds me of Nolan Patrick.
