"The Rangers traded the 33-year-old in late February for two draft picks — a second-rounder in 2019 and a third-rounder in 2020 that becomes a first-rounder if Dallas re-signs the 31-year-old Norwegian"

So did we trade the snapped or unsnapped version of Zuccarello?

It takes serious still to contradict yourself in the same paragraph. Quality reporting by the NY Post again

I mean if Zuccarello is getting younger instead of older, we should have held out for a lot more.

The Post was just reversing the equation. Players who come to play in NY age roughly 2 years when the sign. So when they leave, they get two years younger.

Zucc 6 months after returning to the Rangers to end his career.

Oh shit, now I get it. There's a correlation between following the Rangers more extensively the last couple of years and having the feeling those exact same years have just flown by.

Adam Fox is the player you hope a 2nd round pick to turn into. It's the same with the debate whether or not Fagemo is worth a late 1st round pick. Fagemo had 25 points in the SHL in his D+1 season, which is what you hope a late 1st rounder would do in that situation. Why go for the unknown when you can get a player who has already ticked those boxes?

Fox is someone who, to me at least, is something you hope your mid to late 1st round pick turns into at this point. Most teams would have traded their 2nd half of the order 1st rounder for a signed Fox assuming they had room on the right side.

This site would not be able to survive if the Rangers had two lottery picks.

Literally.

The severs would collapse from our board's anxiety, and other team's disdain.

It would be so insane and simultaneously glorious. We’d def lose some posters due to hospitalization (mental facility).

I was really hoping he'd fall to the Rangers top pick in that draft.

Alas, we got Sean Day.

How is Fox more of a question mark than the nameless draft picks you are so upset we gave up for him? He lead all of college in points per game as a defensemen. He might not amount to much but hes certainly more likely to than another 2nd round pick.

At the very least he has proven he can dominate at the collegiate level which makes him less likely to be a complete bust than whatever is behind door number 2nd round.
I meant question mark for other teams because they would not be guaranteed that he will sign with them.

Didn't want to create a new thread, but after people were positive about the previous one, here's the one from yesterday discussing, among other things, Panarin coming to the Rangers (potentially)

I am really curious to hear what you guys think of the intro

Intro was great, but it and the outro were MUCH louder than the rest of the podcast.
