Mr. Preachy
Maybe Hank should up the pressure by posting videos of himself wrapped in baby blankets with the Rangers' red/white/blue.

Ah well if so, then carry on @FultonReed![]()
Yup, I think Mittlestad is on the verge of breaking out. It’s not an easy league for a young forward and he is very talented.
I also think that he is exactly what we need. Speed and skill and playmaking ability. Sure he got things to figure out, but we have guys to teach him. Very mobile. That low gravity skating. I also think that many of our other players really need someone like tbat, to get them the puck. Kakko is a perfect example. He must get a Sakari Manninen in the NHL too. I am blown away by Zibas development — but facts are that Ziba has been nothing but destroyed against Boston’s top line and many other top guys (like McD). They are good lines, but you don’t have to be destroyed by them. The problem is just that a big body like Ziba takes time to change direction — and a line like that exposes that.
I like Nils, but he isn’t the second coming and we don’t have room for him. I don’t buy the notion that things might work out somehow.
I want to implement a litmus test that we never should deviate from with a young kid. Draw up two universes. One where a kid is put in the best possible situation develop in. The other being the one we are in right now. If those two aren’t mirror images of each other you should pull out. Cut ties with the kid. Deal him for future assets.
Ok, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration. But seriously. For every TDA that can make it despite worst possible conditions, you will ruin 9 others that are served crap daily. We don’t have a good environment to develop Lundkvist in. Deal him.
Does Strome even want to be a Ranger? What’s with the blanket?
Green? Looks more like a Minnesota Wild blanket. Trade confirmed.

Really? Some of you here really criticizing a dad for choosing normal baby colors? Congrat on trying to br funny
I succeeded at being funny. Get over it.Really? Some of you here really criticizing a dad for choosing normal baby colors? Congrat on trying to br funny
And we all know who that someone is.Actually, it's quite funny. But it's sort of an inside joke here on HFNYR, after someone criticized Shattenkirk for "dressing his newborn in Rangers colors" when there was talk of buying him out, not realizing those blankets in those colours were standard in most NY-based hospitals
Lundkvist for Mittlestad?
His results were pretty bad with pretty much all partners. I know why people like him. He’s like Girardi except he’s not a shot blocker. He’s tough, he’ll play in front, and he plays your classic mean game. He could be a solid third pairing dman who PKs. He’s nowhere even close to being a first pairing guy.
And we all know who that someone is.
Let us consult one of my favorite articles of all time to see how likely Stromes season last season was to continue:
William Karlsson's Shooting Percentage Is Unsustainable... Or Is It? - SinBin.vegas
14.6% since this article was written. 25% before. Weird since they told me it would continue since he gets into such great spots.
If we did decide to go the trade route (and depending on the target) I’d package some pretty good-to-hefty pieces and look at guys like:
Marcheseault
W. Karlsson
Schenn (if STL needs to get creative to keep Pietrangelo)
Lindholm (if Calgary decides to restructure)
All make between 4.8-6.5 with term, which is the right price for a solid 2C.
I’d include Strome or flip him elsewhere and consider moving some pretty good pieces depending on who we were looking at. Again, depending on who we were going after, anything from Buch, Lundkvist, other prospects, picks.
Pipe dream. I acknowledge that. Just looking at names this morning out of quarantine boredom, so don’t get too bent out of shape.

Wasn't me.We all know who that someone was, @Machinehead. Always went out of line with these things.
Very interesting but probably not the right look. If he does great, then what? If he flops, that’s a pretty harsh way to make a point.Assuming the NHL decides on a 24 team playoff format.
You offer Henrik the opportunity to start for the team in his final playoff run, with the assurance that he will retire at season's end if this is the case. Do you do it?
Wasn't me.
I'm pulling an all-nighter to reset my schedule. I'm a bit nocturnal right now being up late grading.Hahaha, I thought you would be asleep for many more hours.
I just wanted to reflect some blame from who it really was, @ManUtdTobbe, you guys were harsh on him. How could he know the color of a blanket at some hospital in the US?

It’s always best to get out in front of a controversy like this.I've also turned my sleeping rythm working from home...
And OK, I want to come clean, it will come out anyway, it was me that made the post about Shatty and the blanket. BUT, you guys don't know the story behind those posts. It was @Amazing Kreiderman that was egging me on. He kept sending me PM's asking stuff like "Bud, are you OK with this?" and "Ola, you must stand up for the fans of NYR, you will become a hero if you post that, I would do it myself but my phone is running low on battery" and "Where are your sense of decency? If you let this slide, what is next? Like others before us, we must fight for our freedom." And stuff like that.
But I do not want to blame someone else for making that post. I take full and complete responsibility for it. And while I am coming clean, I also want to let you guys know that I only made those posts above blaming others because @Edge PMed me last night claiming it was the best way to handle a storm like this. And he is an expert on this.
You picked the absolute worst writer who covers any sport in North America to quote. Before the Knights showed up to Vegas, this guy self professed to know zero about the sport, but now wants people to think he's an expert. He constantly repeats the same garbage over & over trying to convince his minions it must be true. He's so bad, that Gallant would literally roll his eyes whenever he asked questions at the post game presser.
Not saying Strome isn't due for a correction, just that this article or writer is not the one I would be referencing.
Vegas is over a barrel salary wise, so there is a deal to be made. I've speculated all season that Marchy would probably be the odd man out. The team has a ton of forward depth but a dearth of D man.
I love him as a player; he hustles every shift, plays much bigger than he is, scores clutch goals, plays with a ton of passion; Plus he's like a C/RW out there. He's a playmaker who can also rip the puck from all over the offensive zone. The only downside to his game, IMO, he misses the net entirely too much when he shoots the puck. It's laughable to the point where I think the Garden fans would tire of it really fast.
