There's probably no chance he's available, but, I'd love to see if STL would be willing to listen on offers for Vince Dunn. They're looking at an interesting cap situation depending on what they want to do with Pietrangelo.
Dunn would be a sweet pickup

I'd have to imagine Pietrangelo is gone though right? They have Parayko and Faulk locked up already, and I have no clue how they'd make a Pietrangelo contract work on top of those deals

I met McTavish once at a bar on the UES, ship of fools (it’s now closed). He could not have been a bigger prick. He was with Kevin Lowe, who was very nice.

I am not super enamored with Dunn, but the Blues are in a sticky situation and may end up having to expose him in the expansion draft depending on how Pietro goes. I wonder if they won't shop Parayko and would re-sign Pietrangelo if so. They're married to Faulk now and none of them were great at LD this season.
Yeah, I remember you mentioning Parayko a few weeks ago. He'd definitely net them a fortune, but it seems like a safer bet to try to maximize what they have in him while he's still cost-controlled. I still have no idea what they were thinking with the Faulk contract, and I definitely see it coming back to bite them in the near future.

Not sure honestly. Pietrangelo is their captain and will end up in the Blues hall of fame if he finishes his career there. His next contract is going to be terrible, but I can't imagine Armstrong letting a key core piece go when they're defending Cup champions.

I can only guess pressure on Pietrangelo in a contract year. Sather used to make those kind of trades/signings to mitigate player leverage all the time when a similar-positioned player was heading into FA.

Hartford is the most dangerous city in Connecticut, study finds

The most dangerous cities in America, ranked

Hartford is great b/c it’s in close proximity to West Hartford just as South Norwalk is great b/c it’s in close proximity to Westport.

This conversation is getting tired. It isn't a real estate forum. Those statistics come from East Hartford. I highly doubt Wolf Pack players are venturing into East Hartford for any purpose. You're really getting off the rails from the what affect Hartford had on Lias.

The kid had/has a mental health condition. Which isn't unusual for most NHLers due to all that goes into being a professional. A family friend started the mental health program for the Leafs just a couple years ago. Their AHL arena is a stone's throw from the NHL arena and she describes similar struggles for the kids that Lias experienced. Those challenges can arise in any locale even with the best available resources.

Doubt they let their Captain and best overall defender walk as a UFA.

No one is talking Faulk at 6.5 for the next 6 years.

I'd assume that Colton Parayko is the odd man out and the haul they would get for him would be massive.

Young and signed for two full seasons, there are teams that would pony up quite a bit for his services.

Edmonton would be a great landing spot for him

Could make a deal for Seattle to take Faulk? Or trade him there with some salary retention? One of Vegas' problems was that they had virtually nobody signed long-term

They also gave Faulk a NTC. They must have really really wanted him.

Maybe. They'd have to get incredibly creative to make it work.

If the cap is flat next year they'll have under 3 million in space. If they let him walk, they obviously thought they'd get at least one more Stanley Cup run out of him this season.

That contract is also going to be pretty bad. Although in their case I'm not sure they care about 5 years from now

Its not so bad. If they find teams to take Steen's and Bozak's expiring contracts, and make a decision between Allen and Binnington they trim > 15 million.

I'd be fine with Barron staying in school. If he wants to go back and try to lead Cornell to a title, go for it.

I'm not worried about him potentially leaving via UFA.

I'm sure the biggest thing that's holding up the decision is the situation with the virus. If there's another wave next winter, could be very similar to this year where the tournament is cancelled.

Feel like that's easier said than done

Can't imagine teams are going to be lining up to take their bad contracts. And if they are lining up, it won't be cheap

All expiring contracts. Bozak still has value. Steen had a latter-year Rick Nash role on the Blues last season, playing good minutes on their third line. I think there has to be a team out there that could do worse than Allen or Binnington. Hell- one is the defending stanley cup goalie. They could get a pick for Bozak, maybe spend a pick for a floor team to take one of the others.

I wish our bad contracts were more like their bad contracts.

So much this. That’d be such a stupid dynamic defense with Fox-DeAngelo-Dunn
