To be fair, you are the person who brought up position in this case, not AK.

What? If i mentioned a player by name in one post and then by position in the next, who cares? He mentioned three players and rather than type out each individual name i referred to them as “wingers”. Good lord people.

The implication in your post was that we should be picking the physical center, and that people who think that we should take wingers are wrong.

Regardless of how you intended it, that's how it came across. If that's not how you intended it to come across, perhaps you should make your messaging more clear.

implication my tail. The kid is a physical center and i mentioned taking him at the current spot. That’s it. Had i mentioned a goalie (big, agile, whatever) it would make no difference.

Perhaps he shouldn’t be so vague and post about something besides three names which is a vague as taking “wingers”. Is that message clear enough for you? Lol

Connor Zary is a center, FYI. And you asked my why I wouldn't pick Holloway, so I mentioned several players I rate higher. How is that vague?

ask your friend unsand who apparently has a perception of insinuations. lol

unlike the NFL, most of us are not familiar with these players like the MLB amateur draft.

Tell me about Holloway. Why do you like him enough to draft him at 13?

i think he’s somewhere between Nemchinov and Hayes. He may calm down with age but today he does like to throw his body around which i love. He’s heavier on the puck yet doesn’t appear to have that gear so many want. No secret, i like physical players.

If i could find a do it all Rick Tocchet type i would flood the team with them. No, Holloway is not RT but he can pass the biscuit, score some goals and will hit.

Sounds like a nice player to have on your 3rd line. Is that a player you draft at 13 though? Or are you able to find that later in the draft? From what you described, it sounds like a Morgan Barron-type

I'd be fine with Holloway at 13. With the team essentially forced to keep both 1st round picks, I could see them doing what they did in 2017 again. Taking a safer prospect at 13, and swinging for the fences at 23 or wherever the pick is

Gunler's ranking is all over the map, some have him in the top 15, others have him not in the first round. If they can get Gunler with that second pick, that would be a homerun swing type of guy. I think there's the possibility he'd be available there, but who knows.

It only takes one GM to like a guy

I do believe both Nemchinov and Hayes weren’t 3rd liners so not sure why Holloway would be. i think a team like the Bruins love this type of player. A Jake DeBrusk type around 13 works for me. I’ve read this is a very deep draft so maybe a better player is out there yet without the physical component, i’m not as big a fan. (Edit) Jake had better numbers yet he was physical.

I mean, we took Lias at #7 and that's all he was ever projected as, right? Disregard the fact that he'll never ever crack an NHL lineup again... :sarcasm: (sorry, I know he's your boy; but really, probably one of this organization's worst picks; don't know what we saw in him, before the draft and anything he's shown in the US).

I'd love to see the team make a deal to get a pick in the second round of this years draft, but without player trades it won't happen.

Which sucks because there are a bunch of guys I'd love to have in the second round

Why do I get the feeling that Holloway is going to get the Brady Tkachuk treatment around here leading up to the draft? "NHL teams are dumb. They can't see he's just a 3rd liner and they only like him because of #toffnuss."

You can't really compare that draft to this one. They're arguably the deepest (2020) and weakest (2017) draft in the salary cap era.

It's not like we passed up on a bunch of players who are lighting it up in the NHL now

Players having an edge is great, but it should not be their defining characteristic, as a first round pick.

why does he have to get Tkachuck treatment? It’s amazing how so many praise and shiat on teenagers around here.

Yea I was thinking Andersson for a 2 but isn’t that still allowed ? He just can’t play this year but he won’t anyway
