If we had good middle-six depth, Lemieux and Fast would be on the fourth line still getting good, effective minutes.

would be nice if Barron would sign here. Based on the draft slot that Holloway kid could be the pick too. Would love either of them up the middle and flanked by Lemieux and Fast.

Barron on the 4th line could be the infusion into the team we need to solidify our bottom 6. If he can eventually grow into a 3rd line player, that's huge.

i agree. I think the forwards are top heavy while i think the defense should ok. Need to solidify that bottom 6.

Not something you target in the draft though. And if we were really top-heavy, Fast wouldn't be in the top 6

Top heavy and thin is why is why Fast has the role of one of the few who actually back check. Not much else to pick from. Draft wise, you would pass on a Holloway? That is, unless the Rangers manage to move up higher. Meanwhile, i’m higher on Barron than some who seem to trash kid bit.

At 13, Holloway wouldn't be my first choice

I would just like to see him focus more on playing hockey instead of chasing guys around, chirping, and ending up sliding on his ass while the play heads the other direction.

Agreed. I felt the same way about Avery as well. When Sean focused more on the game than the bullshit, he was a much more effective player. I think Lemieux needs to realize when and how to be a pest.

I also think he’s making a name for himself, but in a negative way amongst officials. We’ve already seen how his reputation has hurt him a few times this season.

We'll still be hearing about "Lemieux's upside" when he's close to retirement. He's 24.

Last year was his 2nd full season. Hell, Chytil has more games on his NHL resume than Lemieux. There’s plenty of time for him to continue developing even though he’s 24.

So do you have it:

Holtz
Gunler
Raymond

Yes. And I am probably one of the few who has Raymond ranked 3rd among these, but from what I have seen, I have my reservations. A lot of the criticism Gunler gets, I have actually noticed with Raymond (how he responds to feedback/coaching on the bench for instance). Raymond is probably the most talented out of the 3, but he reminds me a lot of Patrik Laine, where Holtz and Gunler are more a Sebastian Aho-type. More complete players, just not as flashy.

I have attended around 10 games of Lucas Raymond, Noel Gunler and Alexander Holtz this season and my biggest takeaway was that Raymond doesn't respond well to feedback after a bad shift on the bench. Gunler and Holtz are the exact opposite. The communicate well. That's a big indicator for me personally. Not saying Raymond won't change that, but I find it odd that the criticism Gunler has been getting in some NA-based reports apply more to Raymond than to Gunler.

I would be stunned. I think that, if he is even signed, the best possible outcome for him is to come over for camp and some exhibition games and then go back on loan to TPS or wherever. They'll handle him just like Reunanen.

Yeah, and that will probably happen next summer.
