The reference I made to Kucherov was that signing a bridge deal worked out in his favor, and then I followed that comment up by saying there are reports saying Dubas has offered Nylander a contract comparable to Pastrnak.

The article I read also suggests that a short term bridge deal is also an option.

Neither side wants a bridge deal, so while that might be an option (it’s ALWAYS an option), that doesn’t mean a serious offer has been made for one.

He’s had a really bad 3 to 4 weeks honestly.

I think Nylander does not want to sign only to be traded to somewhere he does not want to be.

If that becomes a given no matter what he signs he may as well try to maximize that contract as much as possible.

Perhaps that in itself removes some destinations he does not want to go to.

I posted this in the Around the NHL string as well, but this is the type of deal Gorton should be scouring for in order to move someone like Smith.

Hagelin with 1 year left for Pearson with 3

The Rangers should be scouring the league for guys who are undervalued. Teams who need cap space. Teams with young players who they aren't utilizing correctly. Nylander doesn't check any of those boxes.

That's not to say he wouldn't be a welcome addition to this core but at this point in the retool/rebuild I wouldn't give up multiple assets for him.

I would just point out that Nylander gets way less PP time than Marner despite a crazy pp points per 60. He would have been a pp/g player with that time. He's undervalued/utilized in that capacity.

Man, they should move Hayes. The return from him and the increased time for Lias and Howden are more valuable at this point.

Shouldn’t have messed with Chytil Zibanejad Namestnikov and should be playing Spooner over Lettieri who is a joke. But otherwise it’s probably fine.

Should have left Lias alone in Hartford this doesn’t help anything.

How so? Think he is there as there simply is no other place to play him.

I would have considered keeping Namestnikov together with ZBad, but will trust that Quinn knows more. Other than that, lines are as I thought they would be.
