One of these names has to move for us to have a chance at Nylander. If not, we can forget it.

Skjei, Kreider, Zibanejad, Buchnevich, Chytil, Andersson, Kravtsov, Shestyorkin

Like I said a month ago. Our interest in MN is real. I know the family. They are very stubborn but got a sense they will cave with a bridge deal soon.

Have little doubt the Rangers would love Nylander.

Question is are they willing to pay the price? Equally important, does Toronto prefer what they can get from the Rangers to what they would be offered elsewhere?

Because the price is not going to be the pieces we’d be okay moving, while holding to the pieces we don’t want to move.

Likewise, I’m not sure the pieces we move are really the pieces that a team like Toronto is necessarily putting at the top of their list at this stage.

Based on the last trade deadline, it appears Toronto doesn’t know how to get a trade done. Their management is frightened of the media. (And that was before installing a rookie GM).

I mean it depends on the price, doesn't it, but there really is not a whole lot that I would not put on the table for Nylander.

I think I'd rather trade for Nylander, then try to sign Panarin in the offseason, if I wanted to make a play for a top line caliber winger. Nylander is only 22/23, I think. I wish the RFA tender deadline was closer to the trade deadline but, yeah, getting Nylander would be a very strong move.

Sure he will cost young assets, but I dont see how locking down Nylander to a long term deal hurts the rebuild whatsoever

The Rangers don't need Shestyorkin. Quinn did an interview with ESPN Radio NY a few days ago.

Rick DiPietro is a BU guy. Quinn went on his radio show.

Quinn said Lundqvist wants to be part of the Rangers next run. He thinks Lundqvist has a lot left in the tank.

Shestyorkin should seriously consider extending his contract in Russia again or he should ask the Rangers to trade him to another organization.

The Rangers should use him a chip to get more help for Lundqvist to win a Cup in New York. Shestyorkin will barley play in New York behind Lundqvist. Unless Igor wants to be in charge on opening and closing the gate on the bench and sitting in the hallway watching the game on a small little screen(some arenas have no room for the back up goalie to sit on the bench), he should stay right where he is.

Gorton better be first in line to sign Panarin. Give him a blank check. That guy is a true difference maker. Impactful player. He just needs Shattenkirk to help him with his shootout moves. Is $11M per enough with NYS and NYC income taxes?

The Rangers should offer up their 1st to Toronto in a deal for Nylander. The Rangers aren't getting a player as good as Nylander with the 16th pick overall in June. The Rangers are rolling. The Rangers will bank those points between now and late December. They will build up a cushion to fall back on when the schedule gets tougher. The Rangers wrack up the points now and they play .500 hockey the rest of the season. They will be fine.

Gorton adds help at the trade deadline.

Let's Go Rangers.

All right, who hijacked RB's account?

Toronto is in win now mode, would cost one of Skjei, DeAngelo, Pionk +

I disagree, if you can sign panarin without giving up prospects and picks it's a much better deal. Toronto will want Skjei + for Nylander. To me it's one step forward one step back, signing Panarin just costs money.

Why are people so enamored with Panarin. He's going to be 29 during next season. He doesn't control games. I just don't see him justifying what he will cost.

If you’re gonna post these long rants every few days at least get some new material for them

You said the same exact thing a couple days ago
He does it after every win. They aren't intentionally tanking, therefore the only option is to go all in. Totally binary, no spectrum. No room for these guys to play hard and protect their livelihood. It's an unrealistic stance to begin with but it reminds me of my brother when he got upset. If someone ate one of his French fries, he would tell that person to just take them all. Spite himself for not getting something perfectly his way.

He just turned 27 2 weeks ago. So unless he ages 2 years per year then he will be 28. Hes still got 4 years left in his prime and hes damn good. Would basically be zucc replacement if NYR decides to move on from Zucc

I u derstand that Nylander is a nice player, but there is something to be said about what Pionk is doing

I think I'd prefer to keep Skjei, ADA and Pionk

Nylander is more than a nice player and right now Pionk isn't defending at an NHL level. Nice points, but he's is buried in chances when he steps on the ice. He is an absolute throw in on a Nylander deal and I don't lose a wink of sleep over it.
