CK's best fit is in Dallas.
Mika's best fit is in Vancouver.
Mika’s best fit is either home on his couch or Skelleftea or some SHL club, until he can screw his head back on and overcome whatever is happening with him. He isn’t that old, hasn’t had injury problems and I don’t think his physical skills have declined that much. Like Ovie (yes, freak of all freaks, but still…) is 39 and his one timer is still automatic. Zib’s 31 (?) and I really don’t think he “lost” the ability to score on his one timer at 29.5 or whenever it started falling off. Everything going on with him is between his ears and that sucks because it’s anyone’s guess as to whether he can/will fix it or not.
He’s just such a f***ing sad sack, it hurts to watch. Okay bro… you (supposedly) exercised your NMC and you have control over staying here, where you want to be. You’re a 31 year old dude with a beautiful wife, playing a sport for a living, making insanely good money AND having success in your hobby doing music on the side. We lost in ECF a couple of times and there’s expectations and pressure on the team now, and yes, you may even see some friends traded away. They’re not being f***ing murdered. You can still use yours millions of dollars to see them in the off-season and vacation in wild places together most of us will never dream of. It’s not like being deployed in the military, making friends in the desert while risking your life and then being sent back home to never see those people again. Or being stationed somewhere a couple years and then getting orders to a new base and having to say goodbye to everyone. It’s a little like that, except you’re making 8.5M to play hockey, not $48k to get shot at. Like… just f***ing go play hockey. Whatever it is. Maybe be lost a step, but he hasn’t had any real physical decline. It’s between the ears and you’re in such a good place in life. Just go play hockey and enjoy it you f***ing tool bag.
Kreider seems like a fit in Dallas at first, but I don’t think he is. They have Hintz, Robertson, Duchene, Johnston, Benn, Stankoven, Marchment, Dadanov, Bourque and Seguin is still under contract so he’ll be back and they’d still have to fit it all. That’s 10 top-nine forwards already and they want Bourque and Stankoven getting minutes. I see a better fit in Minnesota with his friend Zucc, or in Buffalo where he’s not too far from NY/BOS, would instantly be a big leader in the room and would have a lot less pressure.
