it makes no sense for him to waive clause just to end up in CBJ anyway. he'd want his new team to have more assets, no? unless optically he just wants the pride of being traded for value instead of waivers.

Sure. In the unlikely scenario he's not claimed and actually reports to Hartford. I don't see it.
