possessing the puck, consistently playing good defense, tilting the ice, yeah he is giving the Rangers something they don't have.

If you think Kakko's contributions are irreplaceable more power to you, I just dont feel that way.

what a morning - just breezed through 20 pages of this thread. As a newer member it's fun to see pretty much the whole board in on the action.

can i ask a question though?

Why is @McRanger92 continually lumping Kakko in with the rest of the country club brigade?? He plays the right way, has chemistry with cuylle and fil, he's even missing a front tooth for f***s sake. yeah if he gets you a stud or an upgrade at D or C sure he's not untouchable - but why is this guy just repeating the idea that he's part of the problem over and over and over??

Kakko should be kept unless he's the centerpiece for another young star.

Really? Don't coaches usually fill out their staff? I'm sure Drury has the final say but I can't imagine a coach like Lavi not having a say on who his assistants are.
I absolutely agree. Plus what is wrong with Peca? Our centers at least improved their faceoff numbers.

try reading the message you're responding to before typing. i specifically said he's not untouchable, that for an upgrade at any position he should be on the table.

you're the one insisting he's dead weight and should be punted like he's part of the problem with this team. it makes absolutely no sense.

This whole situation is a combination of poor play by key vets who all think they have retirement contracts and that no one watches games to see their complete lack of effort, poor GM-ing ( has there been anyone worse than Drury ?) and a coach without the ballsack to sit guys who don't care and play the other guys who actually try.

The result is locker room disruption and chaos manifesting itself in unprepared, disjointed and disengaged on ice beat downs the last couple weeks.

Fire Renney !

I never said he was dead weight. If it seems I inferred it, I apologize. I want the team to improve. Kakko is an unsigned RFA that isnt happy with his role. In the NHL, guys like that get traded all the time. If the team is looking to make move, which they obviously are, types like him and K'andre who is in the same boat, are on the table. It's not personal.

All these Senators people coming out saying the Tkachuk stuff is a lie is so funny. Spittin Chiclets reported last spring that Brady was getting impatient. But their commitment to winning is unwavered! (ignore the 11-12-2 record)

Step 1: Trade for Brady Tkachuk
Step 2: Have him beat up Mika, force-feed him a steak, and give him a buzz cut.
Step 3: Mika requests a trade
Step 4: Profit???
There's Tkauchuk! He's coming to the ring. Ba God, he's attacking Lindgren! And now both Zibanejad and Tkachuk are attacking Lindgren! Why is he doing this?! This is disgusting!

I'm reminded of the reports of some locker room schism over coaching and the captaincy when Gallant was let go. Some players not wanting the "structure", liking the hands off approach, Kreider reportedly miffed about Trouba getting the captaincy, etc

I don't think any one side is "winning" because Trouba is gone, I think everyone is on notice, but still I wonder if the schism has been re-opened over the summer
