I know GMs are petty, but if the Ottawa GM traded Brady and it came out that he rejected a better deal just to 'f*** over the Rangers', he'd be fired in a heartbeat.

All Drury would have to do is offer up one Adam Fox as a 1-for-1 swap and Ottawa wouldn't be able to refuse.
This team doesn't have the balls to do something as wild as that though. It'd just be interesting to see because both Brady and Adam have a NMC that kicks in on the same date.

I do not see them trading Brady mid-season.

In the off-season, he gets a full NMC and controls where he goes....

with that said, if he goes to Jersey, I might stop watching. I dont see how they can afford him and a lot of their big salary players have NMCs.

He'd be fired if he disobeyed the owners orders too. If the owner decides that B.T. will not go to the Rangers (bc "soft tampering") then the Ottawa GM will have to find another deal.

He ain’t wrong.
Gave four examples from the Seattle game.

Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have Brady Tkachuk than Jack Hughes. It's not because Brady will score more it's just I could see a team coalescing around Brady like happened with his brother Matthew with Florida the last couple years. He's a real piece of work and pretty much every game an asshole to play against. If Ottawa ever gets to be a good team or he gets on a good team watch out.

I don't see a reason to trade a valuable PKer and effective 4th line player who might be on the outside looking in making 800K on a team with playoff aspirations.

If they fall out of contention, sure, they can get a 3rd or whatever for him.

I know they've all got better things to do but Drury and the Rangers beat writers should really be working together to put out a flood of stories about almost every big name player in the league to really give the 'soft tampering' thing some legs. At least 2 articles a day, everyday
