Maybe we see Skjei get moved. Solid player who can skate well, good age, good term for a good cap hit, definitely good value there

Rykov, Lundvist, and Miller all in the pipe for as soon as next year

Staal can finish out the year playing lol

Is this what you believe, or what you want the Rangers to put on the trade advertisement?

We can use more speed but I wouldn't mind getting an aircraft carrier to patrol a wing. A hard to play against aircraft carrier

Yeah I agree for sure.

But it should be one of each, not someone that got a bit of both...

What we need is a bidding war between St. Louis and Colorado for Kreider. Basically a full season, jump the market, keep your cup aspirations intact. The Namestnikov trade opened up cap space to be creative.

Still ridiculous that management bought out a finally healthy shattenkirk instead of simply letting their egos go and trading Names for nothing earlier and buying out Staal. Best defense out of any scenario and cap compliant from day one.

its still ridiculous that you are still upset that the team didn't make some hypothetical trade you imagined in your head.

there is zero chance that buying out shattenkirk and having $6 mil in dead cap space next year was their #1 option. if there were other options then they would have taken them

And shattenkirk is a RD...if he was here he would be playing RD and Adam Fox would be in hartford waiting for his opportunity to be called up, so how does that help anything?

I feel like Carolina might be a dark horse candidate. They’ve got the assets, and Kreider fits their approach.

do not sleep on colorado for kreider.

this is a team that thinks they can make the cup finals this yr.

that team d0esnt have anyone like kreider. he wouldn't be relied on for scoring- good thing right, but his speed and size along side mac would be filthy. he plays a heavier type game- or test thats has the league thinks. would seem the perfect playoff add.

We know about the talk regarding Kreider to Colorado at the draft that never materialized. So you'd have to think they could circle back on him. I doubt adding Burakovsky over the summer means they'd no longer have interest. Might be too early for the Avs to start chasing down rentals though.

St Louis is an interesting one. Kreider fits their style of play and can solidify that top-six pretty nicely for a run at another cup. I'm sure the Rangers would be thrilled to add a guy like Kyrou who can eventually be a Kreider-like player down the road, but he falls pretty squarely in that vein of Sergachev with McDonagh -- meaning he's just a pipe dream that fans will latch on to.

Sure, maybe the Rangers could help the Blues free up some cap space to sweeten the deal, but usually those deals happen over the summer. I don't see anyone on their roster other than Steen or Sanford that they might like to dump and they're both signed through next year. Sure the Rangers could buy either of them out, but that'd be $10M in dead space next year between Shattenkirk, Girardi, Spooner, and one of those guys. Plus I think Steen, despite not being the player he used to be, is well liked in the locker room. Doubt the Blues are in a hurry to muck with locker room chemistry.

I mean, I don't know which part is wrong? He is a young age, he does have a relatively low, fair cap hit, he does skate well, and he definitely is solid/durable. He isn't the 1D that we hoped his skating could turn him into, but he is not the abomination that some people like to cry about and the real hockey trading world definitely doesn't see him as such

A) too much, B) why?

Chytil in the Brassard 3C role at 16/17 mins a night; I'd like to move Howden because I think he has value but looks better as a trade piece than he is actually worth to a team on the ice, and I don't want to deal him in a lateral 1 for 1 swap

I think management will be making a decision between Kreider and Buchnevich; either pay Kreider 6.5+ per year after this season, or pay Buch 5.5+ after next season; but, not both.

I also think one of Howden/Andersson will be moved by the end of the coming offseason, just based on team construction.

There will be plenty of teams interested in Kreider if the Rangers choose to move him. If someone wants to make a move, the price will be higher because they will be jumping the market.

St. Louis has scored three goals in two games since Tarasenko was sidelined.

Don’t discount Chicago as a suitor...they have plenty of interesting pieces and Bowman is in trouble.

And there’s always Boston. Currently a one line team.

I wouldn't however completely discount the possibility of the Rangers resigning Kreider. I think the chances are better than many people think.

This is a change of tune by you, Bob, no? Hearing something?

As I’ve said 100x before,I’m happy to keep him... so long as the term is 4 years or less.

I don't know how it affects Kreider's value, but after his comments tonight, you'd have to think that Taylor Hall just became the biggest fish on the trade block as far as wingers go.

Chicago couldn’t re-sign him tho, right?
