Keeping firsts is nice, but we should know better than to treat mid round picks as useless. He throws them away like Halloween candy. Dumping picks to get rid of his horrible Nemeth contract? Re-renting Tyler Motte? The Patrick Kane move was ridiculously stupid when it happened and even dumber in hindsight. The list goes on.

Solid amount of prospects might be true (with an exceptional one in there, to be sure) but, without doing any extensive digging, I’d wager our prospect pool is in the bottom half of the league at this stage. Too many players graduated without being backfilled, so for the most part a bunch of “maybe” and “could be” is doing the heavy lifting in that department.

He’s a below average GM that inherited a tricky situation and shouldn’t be tasked with making it better because I genuinely don’t feel he’s capable.
he has a mandate to win... from the owner... these moves arent made apart from that. its $$ generated. Kane move was only dumb because he really wasn't fully healthy. Drury did his best to supplement a core that can't get it done. this core does not have what it takes and the defense was never good enough

all that being said, i don't think he's capable either, some of these are bad moves... and if these these public threats are not met with action... I have will have lost any confidence that i've had in him at any level.

My biggest takeaway from that Montreal game, aside from us still playing like crap... I'll continue to say Drury should be targeting Matheson. Swapping out Lindgren with him would be huge. Beautiful goal today. Made some really slick passes. He fooled the whole team there at the end, threaded a fantastic pass to his teammate toward the bottom of the circle. Wide open net, Schneider 100% saved a goal blocking it

Trade Igor and keep Chytil.

Igor can get 12 mil from some other team. Chytil is affordable and productive when healthy. If he isn't healthy, we can put him on LTIR, and he only has 2 years left on his contract. If we are trading Trocheck and still carrying around the corpse of Mika, then we need at least one competent center.
I would pursue Evans from the Habs . That guy works !!! I'd also ask for the JackEye guy even if it cost us Rempe and Lindgren and a 6th rd pick... LOL....sorry Ed. Move Miller for something ......even new dressing rm lockers ? Can we waive Carrick and have Evan as 4th line C . I would even consider Chytil for Dach and take a chance on Dach evolving .....we likely have to add there as well. Habs have a stable of young D ....must be somebody we can send Miller for ?

Who would be the steak we wrap around Lindgren's neck to have the Habs do that ?

Ive been thinking that since early in the season.
Im not sure MTL wants what we'd offer though. Our first might be the only thing I'm comfortable moving for a guy like him and we might need it in other moves.

Trade proposal

Rangers trade Ryan Lindgren to Kings for RW Tanner Jeanott

Salary for salary

Low value for low value

Rangers get upgrade over bottom 6.

Rangers call up Mancini

Rangers sent down Brodzinski

It is a shame the Rangers won't get rid of Carrick

Habs would probably be willing to make a deal but I just wonder how burned the bridges are between drury and gorton

That Columbus dman trade may have caught Drurys eye. Was a solid return for a guy that has been a disappointment for CBJ.

Probably been discussed already but read Staple saying the Rangers were interested in JT Miller. Not sure what the personal reasons are, and I wouldn't necessarily want him. Though if there could be a JT Miller for Zib swap I think it might work out for both teams. Also probably the only option out there potentially where the other team will likely listen.

Both are 31 and have 5 more years left on their deals. Zib makes $8.5M AAV, Miller $8M. Main difference is Miller's contract is easier to swallow of needed to buyout down the road.

I also think there is a trade to be made with the Avs revolving around Shesh.
No the main difference is Miller is 5x the player Mika is right now. Vancouver laughs and hangs up.

eh we dont have a comparable . Jiricek was 6th overall in 2022. Looked great first AHL season then has been mishandled.

Actually Lindgren for Jeannot would make sense. Both are on their way out of their current team but offer something needed for their new teams. This is cause I think we are going to trade Smith and Vesey.

We have 3 retained salary slots currently. If we're smart we can absolutely make value from those. The important thing is to start making things happen now though. Get every single player's full NTC lists, find out where they'd be looking to go, and start talking to the other teams that they're targeting.

Trouba at 4m per HAS VALUE
Kreider at 3.25 per HAS VALUE
Igor at 2.8 per HAS VALUE
Panarin at 5.75 per HAS TONS OF VALUE
Mika at 4.25 per could theoretically have value though i think its unlikely he's retained on for so long
we should retain as necessary
and unfortunately, doing so on zib will be necessary
only way to up odds of moving is lower salary
at 8.5 reduced ti 4.25 that means even if he is a bust where he relocates, they can retain another 2 and still move him

of course, they still have to provide an incentive for a team to go there
check out my prior post #5025

I used to see Krieder as the untouchable ranger, but over the years he has shown me who he is. his unwilliness to engage in the playoffs for games at a time, he doesn't use his power forward role, he plays as a front net PP specialist, and breakaway scorer.

He doesn't hit, doesn't fight for his teamates, doesn't go to the net. He's built like a truck yet plays a very soft game. Goodbye Chris.

You need to to rethink CK. it's over.
Yup and hes the perfect candidate to trade and fleece some dumb GM

Could definitely see Kreider to Dallas, but not Trouba to Minnesota. They don’t need an 8M 3rd pairing D.
trouba would be 50% retained

He was 6th but CBJ hasn't been impressed with his skating or at least that was what I read. Lias was 7th for us. Kam is way more valuable than Jiricek imo. If we really were starting over (I don't think we are) then we might listen to offers for everyone including Kam and Fox.

Good trade for Min and CBJ. Funny enough, earlier I saw someone mentioned Stramel and I could see Min dealing him for an upgrade at LD. Would they want Lindgren at 50% for him? Lindgren on the 3rd pair with Jiricek? Stramel is having a better year now that he is at Michigan State.

Trading Fox would be the dumbest f***ing thing ever.
