Keeping firsts is nice, but we should know better than to treat mid round picks as useless. He throws them away like Halloween candy. Dumping picks to get rid of his horrible Nemeth contract? Re-renting Tyler Motte? The Patrick Kane move was ridiculously stupid when it happened and even dumber in hindsight. The list goes on.

Solid amount of prospects might be true (with an exceptional one in there, to be sure) but, without doing any extensive digging, I’d wager our prospect pool is in the bottom half of the league at this stage. Too many players graduated without being backfilled, so for the most part a bunch of “maybe” and “could be” is doing the heavy lifting in that department.

He’s a below average GM that inherited a tricky situation and shouldn’t be tasked with making it better because I genuinely don’t feel he’s capable.
he has a mandate to win... from the owner... these moves arent made apart from that. its $$ generated. Kane move was only dumb because he really wasn't fully healthy. Drury did his best to supplement a core that can't get it done. this core does not have what it takes and the defense was never good enough

all that being said, i don't think he's capable either, some of these are bad moves... and if these these public threats are not met with action... I have will have lost any confidence that i've had in him at any level.

My biggest takeaway from that Montreal game, aside from us still playing like crap... I'll continue to say Drury should be targeting Matheson. Swapping out Lindgren with him would be huge. Beautiful goal today. Made some really slick passes. He fooled the whole team there at the end, threaded a fantastic pass to his teammate toward the bottom of the circle. Wide open net, Schneider 100% saved a goal blocking it
