Why did the Capitals play like they had something to prove yesterday but the Rangers didn't play like they had something to prove against the Panthers? The Rangers clearly don't give a flying f*** either way.
Capitals have been good so far this season. It wasn't just something to prove against NYR. They improved their team a lot in the offseason.

Oh, yesterday was awful, no doubt. Still, it's a sample size of 1.x% of a season's worth of games. If it's a trend, that's worrying. So far, it's a one off.
Such an easy concept. Outside of the 3rd line performance and Shesterkin it was a throw away game.

I'm not a psychiatrist and don't want to play one on here. Whatever issues Zibanejad may (or may not) have he needs to get sorted out sooner rather than later.

I agree with Larry that the Rangers' development plan for Rempe seems to be rather (at best) incoherent and (at worst) nonsensical. Bringing him up for one game to fight someone doesn't do him any good. Send him back to Hartford and leave him there to play top 6 minutes.
Why does he need to play top-6 minutes in Hartford if it’s not his role here?

Now that the Yankees are out, I can focus all my sports energy into living, Laffing, and loving (+Kakko boosting)....and hating K'Andre and Lindgren.

Washington got better but they are not as good as NYR, it was one game. Not a big deal. The loss to the Barkov-less Panthers, THAT was a bigger deal because it proved once again we don't match up with those guys. But again, ANY TEAM aside from FLA, the Rangers can take in the East. No question.

Hating Miller when he's part of the top offensive pairing and 4th in xGF % is weird. Yeah he had a bad game, yeah sometimes he mishandles the puck or turns it over, he's still an overwhelming positive on the team. Save your energy for Mika.

I think you in particular would agree that it is well within my rights to hate (maybe irrationally?) any player's game on the team....

Maybe Dolan can funnel some cable TV cash to Sweden such that he would get paid the same but live home and eat mommy salads and greens and we can take his cap and use it elsewhere ....once can dream ....almost a green dream .
Kinda ironical that people think the veggies are the reason, when the more likely explanation is that his empire of 97 burger restaurants is under threat of bankruptcy. He should have focused on hockey and left meat alone 🤣

If the 19-20 Mika shows up, Mika will be the golden child again.
That Mika was a menace and a legit 1c

That Mika played with drive and pizzazz. The current Mika doesn't. It doesn't matter who his linemates are if he doesn't play the style that actually works for him. This poke check finesse game he is attempting doesn't do him any favours. Somewhere along the line his game deteriorated to trying to set up Kreider for tap ins and getting a cheap point or two on the PP.

Kakko finally starting to find a rhythm and ppl want to break up the line. Plenty of games left to let the Mika line figure out things. They're capable of it.
