I never got that from him. I always felt like he's one of those "chill" guys at best and at worst a guy that's depressed or lacking confidence. The most positive way I can frame him is maybe he's one of those quiet dudes that has no personality but steals your girl because she likes reserved dudes that remind her of James Bond.
This is gold. Bravo.

Yeah. That was just me being a bit of an asshole.

Same with Elias Pettersson.

Fox also has had really poor body language for the past year or so, always rolling his eyes and tilting his head back when something doesn't go his way.
Fox has body language like a hardstuck FPS gamer. Like he's bored with what he's doing but he is good at it so he won't stop. Topped out ability wise and knows he can't progress so just gets more and more tilted.

I am some non zero percentage serious with this.

because it's possible the success of that line needs to be sacrificed at the altar of the team's winning

Do we know that it will lead to more success? I don't think Mika is salvageable unless he wakes up himself. I don't think him centering Cuylle and Kakko would give us two good lines, but might give us a shitty line with Mika and a Chytil line that is not as good as the current one.

no we don't know that. that's why i said it's possible. we're 2 weeks into the season - if we're looking to change things up then let's change them up.

y'all expect the team to play as well as it can every night, and each loss is a referendum on the entire future. it's ridiculous. personally it's crazy watching people dig so hard into their positions of which players suck, that they end up rooting against players to play well because it shows their ass.

people did it with laf. people did it with kakko. they do it with kreider, and even fox. y'all are doing it with mika - putting yourself in a position where if he does something to help the team win, it just makes you look like a fool.

whatever. i remember what zibanejad looked like a couple years ago. i see what he looks like now. i dunno what changed but i know what hasn't changed - 20 on his wing. so change that, and send a message to the player.

We have 82 games to experiment. For some reason, we never do.

If we have to go break up a good line and end up going back to it, what's the harm? Is Fil going to get amnesia and forget what Will Cuylle looks like?

The fact is the Cup is a lot more likely with Mika unlocked and not sucking than Chytil having a breakout year.

Mikas just more important.

“Can you play zac Jones”

“No”

“Can you play zac Jones”

“No”

“Can’t you say anything else but no?”

“Try asking for Lindgren”

Do you really think that a psycho like Wilson is deterred by Rempe? This is the most overblown nonsense we have in hockey. Maybe if Rempe was a psychopath too and tried to end his career or that of a teammate but thankfully he's not that.
He certainly is, he's the biggest puss around when there's someone as tough as him on the ice. When Reaves arrived he was the most ineffective player on the ice, wouldn't even hit anyone.

Not directed at you for this but, Personally I'd just switch trochek and Mika, see if that can help get Mika going, and maybe it gets Kreider and Smith more opportunities as well.

As I said previously.
I don’t think cuylle is bringing anything to the line that Ck can’t bring.
Swapping Ck for cuylle lets PL move Mika to the third line and clear that he’s earned the demotion.
That feels like adjustments for the sake of adjustments - Cuylle looks great in his spot and deserves increase in ES minutes just as much as Chytil and Kakko, and it's not obvious that Kreider in this spot would do better.

They already did. Zibanejad is playing almost 2 minutes less per game than he did last year.

20-93-91 has been our third line at even strength this year.
I think if anything you continue that trend.
Drop him down to 13 minutes, and give chytils line 18ish

I'm good with that. If Laviolette needs to eventually send a stronger message - sit their asses on the bench and let them watch their mates pick up the minutes for the slackers.

I think Lavi has been doing this team a massive disservice constantly putting the lines in a blender. Let these guys get in a rhythm. The first game we looked fantastic. The D pairings looked strong.
Maybe it's a matter of perception but I don't see where you get this roster blender point? If anything Laviolette has been putting up a pretty consistent lineup. Last game started the same way and I can't blame him for trying something mid-game as outside of Chytil line and Shesterkin, nothing else was working.
