Guess again
Your arbitrary benchmark of 10 in a given single deal attempts to define that size of (quantity) of assets in trade automatically = unrealistic

Arbitrary benchmark? 10 is the deal that YOU PROPOSED.

You can't find a single trade in the last 20 years, or probably longer, that's similar to yours.

It's bullshit. It's fantasy. It's a complete waste of time.

I said if the Martians kidnapped Igor, w/reinforcement from Quick + Domingue, upside to Garand is he can be eased into starter.

article below reports DG doing well, per the eye test +....

I see you cherry picked my answer to try to represent it out of context.
I will not allow that to go unchallenged.

You continue to insist on the quantity of assets involved as an automatic, overriding factor for realistic or unrealistic. That unsubstantiated position is arbitrary, for reasons I explained extensively in my prior post. That it is arbitrary is a fact that cannot be disputed, because what makes a trade realistic or not is inclination of a team to make such a deal based on what profit it makes. How many pieces there are, and how those assets are lumped into a single package, or smaller multiple packages, is irrelevant.

I again challenge you to show, if you can, where my props fail on the merits.
You did not so far and I doubt you can.

In support of what I envisioned, Jersey just send Nemec down b'c their RD depth is strong.
Hence a retained Panarin for 2 yrs to get 2 top D prospects on elc is not far fetched. You may not like that for Rs, and that is a separate discussion as to what to do, but I'm telling you he is not getting anywhere near 11.6+ after next season, so selling high on him now for quality youth w/long term benefits is smart. And that also sends a message to Zib, as I explained.

A core package of Nemec + Shesty is enough to land Byfield

Those are the kind of moves we need.

My deals are realistic.
Only ? is if Drury has the balls to go there.

And yet for the 3rd year in a row, they continue to give him split duties. If he is the future he should be getting 2/3 of the games by now. I understand there are a lot of back to back games but he can still be playing every mid week game and one of the two weekend games. The guy needs to be playing more.

Slept on that game and my takeaway is that we're spinning our wheels until the much needed Trouba and Kreider trades this summer. Thats 14+ mil in cap space for guys who have been useless at even strength for years.

I know people love Kreider, and I do too for his contributions, but all good things must come to an end.

Drury sucks

Does he? Idk how people are blaming him when its very obviously the players that predate him being the problem.

He's made some pretty good moves to bandaid over cracks. I'm a Drury supporter but I admit I'm not fully confident he can navigate this. But the fact that he tried to trade Trouba and didnt extend Lindgren past 1 year at least gives me hope.

The core guys and Laviolette have done way more stupid shit.

You have to wonder if this continues to spiral downwards and they show disinterest and a lack of leadership if Drury would consider making a move behind the bench and bringing in Messier to get them fired up.

Messier is more likely to replace Drury himself if the season goes off the rails.

not sure I understand you
agree he like most can use more work
that's not the pt
If Shesty is dealt Garand starts all games vs easier competition
splits games w/Quick for tougher competition
Domingue fills in gaps
adjust accordingly based on injury, hot hand, etc

Garand gets enuf mins in that scenario

Kreider not leaving anytime soon
he is great value
productive
and keeps himself in top shape, better than some who are younger

Honestly if I was trading Igor, I’d be doing it to a team that can send a better prospect than Garand back.

Askarov, Wallstedt (who they should have drafted), maybe one of the Buffalo, Chicago or Detroit guys, maybe Wolf or Fowler; that’s the kind of ceiling you need back. Or you can do something really weird with Vancouver if we weee getting really creative. But it’s probably too late to do any of this now unfortunately.

You’d probably want to send him somewhere he’d sign an extension too which further limits that pool, but I think people need to realize you can get a goalie back in an Igor trade too. I’d be picking the team with the goalie that I wanted , and work backwards from there

The crippling Zib extension & the pending Igor extension don't predate him. This team is going to be a fake contender for the next 5 years because of those 2 deals alone.

Yeah the Mika one didnt look this bad at the time but it's aged horribly. Drury shouldve stuffed out that Mika was apathetic and a soft player. Fireable offense? Honestly, maybe.

I hated that deal before the ink was dry, solely on the way it was structured with the NMCs & the signing bonuses. It's one thing to commit to a player, but why hamstring the team completely by making the contract both immovable & buyout proof?

I do remember you not liking it. I think there was an element of "this guy has been great for us" and the factthat it was a discount on the AAV he wouldve got on the open market. But the failed Eichel pursuit is a real inflection point in recent Rangers history and Drury's tenure.

There's an alternate reality where the Rangers acquire Eichel for Buch/Kakko+, let Mika walk for Trocheck and are set up much better long term. I guess we can thank those Blueshirts Breakaway morons for the billboard. 2 know it all's who have never been right about anything.

I don't think Buffalo was sending him here regardless of the billboard.

Their grudge was with Eichel, not a couple of podcasters.

That was the turning point I agree 100%. Would have changed the complexion of the team for the better. Not just because of Eichel replacing Zibanejad but the contract situation would have been much easier to stomach. Instead the rangers are stuck with a declining Zibanejad for another 5 years after this season. Tough.

I just like to dunk on those 2 clowns. The real issue was Drury's refusal to include Kakko or Chytil, and neither guy really popping during the Kreider/Mika/Trouba window.

seems like everyone agrees the worst players are mika, Lindgren, trouba and Drury resigned two of those guys at their peak value and declined the buyout on Trouba this off-season
