like i said, you can't just "move Lindgren" or "move Miller." Somewhere in the process, in that transaction or another, you have to acquire a backfill.

i'm not sure the last time we saw a hockey trade of two players who play the same position. sure the McGroarty deal but that had extenuating circumstances. Geneva convention may not state that but modern hockey convention does.
chychrun/jensen?

Miller's the one you move if you want the best return.

Kreider's the one you move if you want the biggest impact.

Lindgren's the one you move if you want the biggest shakeup.
Miller isn't going anywhere

It's a terrible risk moving Kreider, a key cog on the pp and pk. Are we thinking that Cuylle could walk into that spot? I dunno.

Fox Lafreniere Cuylle Chytil Kakko Miller Schneider Jones Mancini Edstrom Rempe Berard Perrault Othmann

Go forth with those guys in mind as your foundation. Kreider, Trouba and Lindgren are obvious subtractions, whether it's now or in the summer. Trocheck is a dark horse trade candidate but he's a center and has chemistry with our franchise player. Panarin Id keep around because there is a direct line between him and Lafreniere's emergence as a star. The guys Drury moves out can go for futures or guys who fit the timeline of the players stated above.

Moving Kreider would be a horrible mistake. He’s done everything asked of him and a lot more. He’s the actual leader of the team who steps up and makes shit happen when it matters. He’s on track to be one of the best career goal scorers for this franchise. Oh and he makes our PP.

He’s the last person to move. He should retire a Ranger.

move Kreider for a LHD. move Lindgren and Othmann (and a 1st) for a C.

Kreider for Chabot
Lindgren Othmann 1st for Zegras with a little retention.
shed a little salary

Buffalo passes the smell test for me as a team that would have the appetite for a respected veteran like Kreider. They have a lot of youth they dont know what to do with.
I don't see Drury trading Kreider to an eastern conference team unless the return is too good to pass up.

How about Ottawa?

They're not married. I don't think it would have much bearing on Zibanejad unless they really do a rebuild and make it clear that he's not part of it.
They are at the very least engaged, they've been attached at the hip since Zib arrived

Chabot and Tkachuk? Would be a big shake up and would also track that the Rangers would target a sibling of a player that had a team who it worked with that is better. Haha

Always 1 step behind.

I wonder if they feel the only way to get Zibanejad to waive is to move Kreider first? I'm also curious if with the Berard call up that there's already a deal done

The Rempe/Berard callups, and having no spare D on the roster is fishy imo. Even if the Rangers win tonight, the damage is probably done in management's eyes. Its a matter of when, not if with Kreider and Trouba. We've now seen Drury publicly shop both.

Rangers asked Buffalo about Tuch at the deadline. Maybe there's somethingvthere. Tuch at least has a pulse on the ice.

A fun knock on effect is Fox getting pissy if Lindgren goes and then you suddenly have a lot a lot a lot of capital for an on the fly retool.

Id be calling Ottawa every 5 minutes if I had a chance to get Tkachuk from them, but id assume they would want guys from our young core, not our aging vets.
Not so sure. They have plenty of young players. They need to form that young group into a more cohesive unit. They have the pieces to be good and good vets might just be what they are thinking.
