McDonagh at 50% for Howden, Foote, Raddysh, 2nd rounder this year.

Adding these 3 kids immediately makes our farm above average. Throw in 3 first rounders (after trades for Grabs and Nash), including our own top-10 pick. Plus a couple second rounders (our own and Tampa's). On top of all our current prospects (Chytil, Lias, Shesterkin, etc), this is a very, very strong farm. If we get prospects/picks for MZA, maybe a top-3 farm in the NHL.

Agree for sure. And remember, when looking back at a farm it’s all judged about the core players. Did you get someone that could come in and really make his play count.

Due to this there will be a — huge — discrepancy between any ex ante valuation of a farm and a post ante valuation of the same farm. Looking at the Trashers for example, a typical example of a high ranked farm back then, an ex ante valuation of guys like Bogosian, Morin and Burmistrov and the likes will get them high. We only have 10 years from those drafts, but in 10 years when we have the complete out come it’s always completely ridiculous comparing like a retired franchise player with 15-20 great years for the same franchise with a player that dipped his toes in the NHL for 150-200 mediocre games in a post ante valuation.

Do you want Smith to be the one carrying the hard work post 2005 NYR tradition forward as the last vet standing?
I'm not really sure where and how Smith will fit. The last season playoff Smith looked like a guy who, while not being ultra talented, seemed to know how to be effective and fill in holes the Rangers had. He stepped up, he kept the opposition players honest by being physical and was positionally okay.
I'm okay with having some unknowns. I'm not passionate about Smith. If I read tomorrow that he has been traded, I would be okay with it. If he is around at camp next summer, that would be okay too, as long as management knows how they want to measure him, and then act accordingly.

Hey, one of those is an olympian now. Actually Im unsure why Lundmark escaped Olympic consideration. He and Thomas Pock have been tearing up the Austrian league for seasons now.

There's your answer. The Austrian league sucks haha. Living in Vienna, I prefer to drive to Liberec, Brno, Trinec or Bratislava for a proper game

Everyone seems to undervalue McDonagh
He has 2 playoff runs left with a 4.7 cap hit and I’d gladly retain 50% for extra assets
Look at what Duchene got with 2 years left as well and a 6 mil cap hit
Duchene was also declining
McDonagh>>>>>>Duchene at the time and now
Defenseman also have really high value
From Tampa, I’d seriously want Point or Serg but Tampa will say no
They have no enticing prospects to me
Foote/Howden is meh and Katchouk would be nice but he’s not good enough, they also have a really late first
2 firsts+Katchouk/Raddysh+2nd+
Would be something I’m ok with doing.
2 really late firsts, good prospect that projects to be 3LW and a really late second.

I have to wonder if the rumors in regards to Tampa are a smokescreen to get the Bruins to up their offer. The Rangers should have a nice opportunity between Boston and Tampa. Boston would be more of a long-term home for McDonagh as they should have the cap space and need to re-sign him while Tampa would be looking to not only block their inter-divisional opponent from acquiring him but also bolstering their blue-line to the point of absurdity. Gorton should have other bidders, I'm sure, but those two teams seem to make the most sense and both have stocked systems.

I really think Winnipeg is the best spot to deal mcd to
They have a lot of good prospects and unlike Tampa and Boston they have great bluechips in Roslovic and Vesalinen
Also besides Morrisey their left side is certainly lacking

My experience living in Prague has been that the hockey here really isn't even worth going to. I saw a Slavia/Sparta (both Prague teams, sort of a Rangers/Islanders thing I guess) game, and a full 45 minutes of it was shorthanded for one team or the other, including like 20 minutes of 5 on 3 for stupid little ticky tack "hooks" or "slashes" that would get a ref crucified in NA.

It is still much more enjoyable and better than the Austrian league. I am just happy I live 40 minutes from Bratislava and can see KHL games

There is a very legitimate chance that we finish in the bottom 5 in the standings. I can't really recall rooting for this team to lose outside of 03-04. But, this year I am rooting for them to lose every damn game from here on out.

Fire the coach. Get a nice NHL ready player in the top 5. Slide Andersson and Chytil in next year (hopefully). Get everyone healthy and go to war next season.

I find myself doing the same.
