I still think the Rangers would prefer prospects to picks when it comes to Hayes and Zucc.

Whether or not it works out that way remains to be seen.

But I suspect that they’re willingness to take a pick or picks for Zucc will increase if they can land a prospect for Hayes.

Hayes isn't getting guys like Roslovic or Vesalainen without a signed extension. Especially after Chevy finally opened his purse for Stastny only to watch him walk out the door this summer.

Even with an extension I'm not sure he'd return Vesalainen.
