My expectation is that if Zucc or Mac are dealt, it'll be in the offseason rather than at the deadline.

I could be wrong, since Gaborik was moved at the deadline in a similar fashion, but we will see. I just think that management is going to have enough work to do on their plate trying to maximize returns for all of our rental players. There's only so much time in the day to get deals done.

Not to mention trying to figure out how to ice a 20 man roster after moving 7 players in one day is a little unprecedented.

Yea it’s more likely a ufa purge so Grabner , Nash, DD, Holden

Call up Andersson , Chytil , Graves , Nieves

Waive McLeod , Carey , Holden if they get a kid or two back in one of the deals

If Gorton trades Zucc for 2nd's that an epic fail. 60pt producer, leader, most well liked Ranger in arguably a decade, affordable contract...Wouldn't make any sense.

If the only offers were E Stall return Rangers shouldn't move him. Doesn't make sense to.

Return would likely be a 1st and a 2nd or a 1st and a prospect.
Never hit 60 pts

Wasn’t given a letter until this year

And staal got 2 2nds and a prospect.

I think Nash brings back a Staal return - 2 -2nds and average prospect .

Grabner has done so well he could get a late first plus average prospect

I'd rather not burn the ELC years for Lias and Chytil if we're really retooling. Keeping people cost controlled for long periods is key to keep a roster together and be able to afford UFA's.

But yeah if we move all the rentals for picks, Nieves, Kampfer, Lettieri, Holland likely become regular players for the rest of the season.

Kreider-Zibanejad-Buchnevich
Miller-Hayes-Zuccarello
Vesey-Holland-Lettieri
Carey-Nieves-Fast

McDonagh-DeAngelo
Skjei-Shattenkirk(upon return)
Staal-Smith
Kampfer

IF, this team is in a wild card spot at the deadline, can Gorton find a way to capitalize on returns for Grabner, Nash, Holden, while adding guys like Pouliot who will be at a cheaper cost just to give this team an ability to at least compete and battle. I know so many want to tank, but getting to a pick in the Top 5 just isnt happening. Getting to the Top 10 isnt even realistic imo.

Zucc had 61 when his shooting % was around 15% that’s double what his average is...

So? You claimed he's never broken 60 points. And the fact that he's had 59 points 2 other times, and he's currently on pace for 61 points, makes your post very disingenuous.

Stop with Pouliot, Brassard, Raanta, etc. already. The band is not getting back together. That band is doing pretty badly right now.

Our pending RFAs include Tambellini, Fogarty, Catenacci, and Chapie. It’d be nice to see what we have in those, especially the first two, before extending them.

It's a good thing they have a month to get things done.

I don't think they move both Zucc and McD before the deadline either. I think McD is more likely to move of the 2 since a team will probably be more willing to pony up for him. I think Zucc is a draft day move.

Steve K pointed out on Twitter that UFA classes are going to get very expensive given the rise in cap and the talent available so we should trade McD and Zucc now while their value is high and start planning for the future. I agree. Its time to rebuild even if brass refuses to use that word, I just hope Gorton is working hard at getting the right package.

Assuming this is in response to my post since you decided to not to quote who you are crying about.

But bringing back Pouliot has zero to do with “getting the band back together”

Jagr is going on waivers today at Noon. Rangers will be selling, they need some depth. No you cannot just roll out an AHL lineup. The Rangers wont do that simply for the fear of losing ticket sales. No harm in having Jagr.

It isn’t just you who has been clamoring for Pouliot or Brassard so why single you out? I note that you disagree with my post, but I’ll just call it that instead of ‘crying’. Also, I can’t think of a better litmus test for whether or not you can play in the NHL than the shot Jagr got in Calgary. He’s done. Worse than Pouliot. You can’t just play names. They have to suit up and compete on the ice too. The guys you are talking about don’t do it very well anymore.

IF we trade Mcd, and I believe we will, ONLY if we get blown away with a deal, like a few posters have stated, since we don't need to trade him!
However, I suspect we will be go the FA route market next summer (2019) and pay for a younger, top pairing Dman (EK/Doughty/OEL, my preference is EK). I don't believe we will get a ready made top pairing Dman in any trades we make this year, and since we're not fully rebuilding, it would make sense to get a younger, more skilled player, to grow with the current core players and the up and coming guys.

Dude they’re all pretty much the same age. McDonagh, EK, OEL, Doughty. Give or take a year. Hence the reason why they’re all free agents at the same time.

Agreed, OEL is the youngest of the bunch, he's only 26. My point being, that they'll go after a more dynamic, elite player, who will put up points and eat lots of minutes.
