Jake and Kelly could use a laundry hamper I guess![]()
Not sure this is an exhibit, just looks like the storeroom of Cass Marques after Trouba getting burnt so many times in 2024.

91 of 94 of those on the PP.
I’m just as critical as the next guy, but it’s not the organization fault that Trouba decided to do a massive screw job.
He ruined the Rangers offseason.
He wont last long once he hears the boo birds all season at MSG.
Yea he really did
They probably would of moved Trouba and with the money signed a LD then traded Lindgren for picks
It was a joke, relax.Stop making shit up. He doesn't even have 91 PP goals in that timespan.
It was a joke, relax.
Trouba is evidence of why Goodrow was treated "ruthlessly". Both sides have to be ruthless in this game, unfortunately.
I wonder if he's wearing the sweater come October. There has to be animosity on both sides.
We’ve also seen terrible goaltending sink many teams. The idea that the Rangers dump Igor and replace him with some ho hum cheap starter and “it’s a crapshoot” is ludicrous. The best four teams made the final four this year. That is a rarity. It's rare the best team wins the Cup
Also we have seen time and time again that hot goaltending nullifies better talented goaltending in the playoffs.
Why do you think the choices are Shesty or terrible goaltending? We’ve also seen terrible goaltending sink many teams. The idea that the Rangers dump Igor and replace him with some ho hum cheap starter and “it’s a crapshoot” is ludicrous.
Might as well say you don’t need a 1C or 1D because Zib and Fox underperformed this past playoff.
Where are we getting this "good enough" goaltending? Why do you think the choices are Shesty or terrible goaltending?
We just need "good enough" goaltending.
You know what we've seen not work for 15+ years? League best goaltending and terrible defenseman. We know that doesn't work.
What’s “good enough”? The random goalie you hope is the one who gets hot during a particular post season? I’d rather the guy I know will play well. Why do you think the choices are Shesty or terrible goaltending?
We just need "good enough" goaltending.

How come so many team with "good enough" goaltending don't win the cup? Or even come close.. At least half the league have "good enough" goaltending and don't sniff the conference finals. Why do you think the choices are Shesty or terrible goaltending?

Because goaltending like every other position requires you to get value without overpaying for it and you can have fantastic goaltending but an absolutely terrible roster. How come so many team with "good enough" goaltending don't win the cup? Or even come close.. At least half the league have "good enough" goaltending and don't sniff the conference finals.
It’s not an exact science. But more teams have one with hot goalie play coming out of nowhere than with a 1C coming out of nowhereWe’ve also seen terrible goaltending sink many teams. The only rumored trade was Trouba + Kakko to DET for Holl + Veleno. We'll probably never know if that was true but if so, I salute and thank Trouba for saving this organization from another disaster of a trade.Yea he really did

This is a terrible argument. No one's saying that "good enough" goaltending is the key to winning the cup lol.How come so many team with "good enough" goaltending don't win the cup? Or even come close.. At least half the league have "good enough" goaltending and don't sniff the conference finals.

So with the 5-6M we will save from having “good enough” goaltending, which in the process drops us down a couple tiers from elite goaltending, we will be able to construct a team much better than what we have now. All with that 5-6M extra cap room? This is a terrible argument. No one's saying that "good enough" goaltending is the key to winning the cup lol.
They're saying that if the team in front is actually well constructed all you need is "good enough" in net.
It depends on how you spend that money right? There is plenty of talent in that salary range that upgrades the teamSo with the 5-6M we will save from having “good enough” goaltending, which in the process drops us down a couple tiers from elite goaltending, we will be able to construct a team much better than what we have now. Don’t think people fully understand how silly that sounds. It’s not like we are gaining 20M in cap space from letting Igor walk lol.
Sure, but is that 5-6M you are spending on one player (or two for 2.5-3M each) going to have as much of an impact as Igor is? I highly doubt it.It depends on how you spend that money right? There is plenty of talent in that salary range that upgrades the team
Again it depends. I would say you probable want to use that on one guy though. I do assume if you trade Igor you are getting a rental and/or an ELC/close to ELC goalie back (otherwise no there is no point) so you can maximize the other spot and yeah I mean you can either upgrade a top six forward spot or you can get a top pairing (or depending on where you deploy Miller maybe 2nd) Dman. Either of those things make a significant difference, and with a better team in front of Goalie X, Goalie X doesn’t have to steal every game, and if they get hot the sky is the limit. When you have that much cap going to a goalie, yes you can get walled. Teams that aren’t giving that much to a keeper, (especially that aren’t in income tax free state) have a much higher ceiling than teams reliant on a goalie. Period.Sure, but is that 5-6M you are spending on one player (or two for 2.5-3M each) going to have as much of an impact as Igor is? I highly doubt it.
Let’s let Igor walk so we can trade a 1st rounder for a guy like Markstrom. Then we can take the 5 million we save and get another winger who “hopefully” has chemistry with Zib and Kreider. Some here have gotten way too unappreciative of goaltending after Hank and then Igor. There are teams out there begging for goalkeeping. You think they’d be better off with a guy like Georgiev? Ask Colorado if goalkeeping matters. Then ask Toronto and Edmonton.Again it depends. I would say you probable want to use that on one guy though. You say this like Colorado didn’t just a cup with Darcy Kuemper. Edmonton got to the game 7 a couple of months playing Skinner, Pickard and Campbell. Vegas won a cup picking Adin Hill off the scrap heap. The Florida teams won the cup with expensive goalies because they are in tax free states so they can get better contracts on other positions.
